Flat tire now holds air? Magic?

This afternoon I came out to a flat passenger side front tire. Almost completely flat down to the rim. Funny, last night I got home at midnight and it was perfect. So I pumped air back into it, visually inspected everything and couldn't see or hear a leak, so I left it. Sure enough here we are about 3 hours later and it doesn't look like anything has changed. What the heck?

it will take a tire at least -10psi to really notice anything by llooking at it, then it will start to sag more noticeably.
Although there is the possiblity that it was just a rim seal leak and tire seated better now. could have also been dirt in the valve

This sounds more like reality and my experience.

Temperature drop? Either way, you can't always hear or see small pinhole leaks. If you have a washtub or even just a big plastic bin, you can do your own bubble-test. I tend to agree with what's been said. Murphy's Law says it'll only happen when ya least need it to...

Alright we were all wrong. No magic, just a hole in my tire. I just checked on it and it was flat as a pancake again. Thats ok because I was actually planning on getting new tires this Wednesday anyway. My tire place is about a 15 to 20 minute drive, the biggest deal for me right now is should I risk driving there? It seems like a small leak, but maybe driving will aggravate the problem and stand me on the side of the road.
What would you do.... risk it and drive or bust your butt putting the original spare on in the 15 degree weather that your not even sure holds air. I suppose a can of fix-a-flat might work long enough to get me there.
Hmm...decisions, decisions..

What has Rennlist come to that people are posting about flat tires?

Pat, go with fix-a-flat, but prepare to tip your tire changing guy. That crap makes more of a mess than a 2 year old kid on a sugar high. Dude, we really ARE posting about flat tires. Wow.

Fix-a-flat will throw off your balancing if you don't drive on it immediately until it cures and will only prolong the inevitable. Get the tire patched or replaced as soon as you're able. Trust me.
It makes a HECK of a mess, too.
