Anders, they should be 16 X8/9 which is why they fit over the brakes. Just go look at one and on the inside of the wheel you should see ETXX stamped in them. That would be enough information.

See my first post, study the words "aftermarket late offset".

Not trying to be an ***, if you looked at the site or the context of the post, they are obvioulsy NOT FUCHS.

These are: A Fuchs-type styled aftermarket wheel.

If you want late offset genuine Fuchs, they are extremely rare. Expect to shell out a minimum of 2 grand a piece. IIRC there were about 35 sets made TOTAL.

Maybe cheaper to source out some magnesium Turbo cop Phone dials.. also Uber rare.

Regarding Fuchs on an S2: Anything over 6" wide will definately rub. A 6" 23mm offset fuchs rim will barely fit on the rear of a late offset 944, and will just barely clear a rolled fender with a 205 tyre. There is no way anything bigger will fit without rubbing. That setup actually fills out the rear well nicely, but the fronts look a little goofy as they stick out a bit too much and also may rub under excessive braking and simultaneous turning.

Re: turbo cup fuchs: The fronts 16x8's should be 23mm, because as Anders said he needs the small spacer to clear the S4 brakes. (which must have been added after the factory sold the car..) If you have an early offset 86 turbo with S4 calipers, but can indeed still fit 8" fuchs if you use a spacer to get more backspacing. I have no idea what the rear offset is, because it wouldn't make sense to still be 23mm with a 9" rim. It might be a 930 offset. who knows. PET doesn't have turbo cup part numbers.

But the only question I have is, are the Turbo Cup specific Fuchs MAGNESIUM? Or are they the same as regular Fuchs? I thought only the turbo cup phone dials were mag.

The story is that the 8" front Fuchs are the same as the rear Fuchs on a stock 951 and the 9" rears are the same as the 930. They are not magnesium.

That is not an production car, the lines on the cabriolet top is different on a production S2 or 951 Convertible.

It's also missing the rocker panels on the bottom. It's a very very early cabriolet prototype. I would venture to say it's even pre-86. (remember, there were 944 turbo's sneaking around as early as late 1984.)

Ok Cincy thanx for the "clarification". I think I was a little misled by your language, "late offset aftermarket Fuchs". As you pointed out they aint Fuchs. I know the diff. I've had at least 4 sets of copies alone, and I don't want another set.

Points taken Anders and Rich. I would agree with you Rich, it's probably a prototype. The full size photos I have of it along with some others from the same series seem to be pretty professional quality, like brochure quality, so I doubt it was a hackjob.
It does look kinda cool with fuchs though! :P

Edit: Haha hey I just noticed, it has small triangle windows in the corners, so the rollup windows are square...man that makes it look dated.

...and that still doesn't change the reply as written. I said, and you quoted,...

"Fuchs on the 951 were only available in 16" and only with the early offset. They will not fit an S2."

Didn't say they weren't available on other cars - just that the ones off an 86 951 were 16".

Interesting stuff. I just LOVE the look of big Fuchs on a 951 (HINT: Anders, post the pic!!). Why won't they fit a late model car? Different suspension/ track?

Rich, not to perpetuate the hi-jacking, but didn't the Turbo Cup cars come stock with the S4 brakes? Or was that an '87 upgrade? Not relevant; Fuchs just look awesome on these cars.
