My new form of boosted fun.
Picked this up last Sunday for a cool $450.
It's a 1982 Volvo 240 Turbo Wagon
Dealer installed Intercooler in 1982, along with all of the options (High performance clutch, increased boost after 3700rpm, etc.)
-Rebuilt head 45k miles ago, and the turbo upgraded to a water cooled unit.
-Passed smog a month ago. Runs nice.
-Turbo wagons with a manual trans are REALLY rare. Most wagons came with the crappy auto.
This thing is fun, and w/ RWD, it really kicks the *** out.

Nice grab! That price seems unreal! Was there something wrong with it??? My family had a GLT wagon (no turbo) back when I was in HS and I learned to drive it. It was an auto though, always wished it was a manual to make the most of it's meager power.
Cheers,

Nice, I just picked up a Volvo 740 turbo this week as well. If you own a car like that there is a reason to like snow on the roads - very easy to hang the tail out.
I have the factory Turbo+ package on my car, 192 hp.
And it's a manual gearbox car, autos are pretty rare around here.

Nothing really wrong w/ it. It boosts up to 10.5 psi very easily. Once i get the fuel system upgraded a bit, I'll kick it up to 14 psi. When I bought the car - the rear brakes were metal to metal, and the rear end bushings were ALL shot.
Since I work at a Volvo shop, I took care of everything the car needed for under $80. It is showing signs of needed a new clutch though, but that's only $250.

NICE MAN!!!
I just sold my 1982 240 Volvo GLT last year I had for a couple months...that thing RULED!!!
Mine wasn't turbocharged, but it looked exactly like yours, same colour, spoke wheels etc...and that thing's *** would kick out all over the place! Mine was a 4 speed, what about yours? Yours is in alot better condition though...but those seats are sweet! Good find and good price! I'm jealous!

I miss my 740 turbo, but it did have the stupid slushbox.
I didn't know they made 240 turbo's, it looks fun! Also never seen those seats before. Nice! If i could find a beater like that for the winter for that cheap i would be all over it.
