Before selling wheels...refinish or not???
Hi all
I will soon be selling the late offset(87 & on) 16" phonies that are on my 951.
They are straight and true, but have faded. They have no major gashes or such.
The question is...would i be better off selling cheap as is??..or getting them refinished and getting more???
Please advise
Thanks!!!!!

I am presently looking for a faded set of 16" wheels, so my opinion is biased....
Anyhoo, you won't get back what you would pay to refinish them. Maybe 75% of it, but definately not all of it.

value before refinishing......$200-300
value after refinishing......$300-400
cost of refinishing.......$50-100 per wheel. definitely not worth it.

you could offer to spray them any color the buyer wants for a fee, but paying to have them refinished is a waste of your money most likely. Offer to spray them any color for the buyer, and maybe you'll make some $$

Thats like buying new tires and a battery for your 944 before selling. Youre not going to get the additional 500 bucks back; an increased profit is completely out of question.
Dont refinish and sell as is.
