wow that article is cool. and that white turbo S is just sweet. i would love to see an S up close. I herd one of the reasons they did not produce many turdo S's was bease they were cheaper and just as fast as the 911 Turbo of the time. i wish they mase some more 968 turbos

So Raj, how does one go about getting the 3L turbo conversion? Not just a simple bore and stroke kit, right?

I'm working on talking Turbo S into attending the 944Frst, it would be a nice convoy out there together.

I believe there are flow issues with a 16V head in a turbocharged engine configuration. Porsche chose the safer route with an 8V head.

Doubt thats right, more a case of cost saving. They already had a good turbo set up (the 8 valve head) which had lots of potential. Why spend money developing the 16 valve head when it was only a limited run car ? Also the 16v head has been used successfully in a home built turbo 968, came across an article in 911 & Porsche world about one of these. It was dyno'ed at a useful 420 bhp !

IIRC, there is a 968 Turbo RS in the states (but not a 968 Turbo S). Jason at Paragon Products purchased it from Bruce Corwin about a year ago. That's gotta a be a sweet car to drive as well.

Isn't 420 hp rather low for a 3 liter engine? At what boost was it?
