Got the car, first impressions and some pics.
Wow,
Thats all i was thinking while driving the car 50 miles home. The reason i say wow is because this thing is 19 years old drives extremely good.
First the handling compared to the previous car is night and day. The suspension is very stiff and it handles great. Seems like the steering is a bit more responsive then the n/a. It drove great, no rattles from the hatch at all, the only small rattle was from the sunroof when going over railroad tracks or small bumps on the road.
The turbo is great
It starts whining up real quick and keeps on going. Its pretty nice how quick it goes from 70 to 100. It sounds good when its at full boost and the car sounds great when its idling. And the brakes are great. Those 4 pistons make a big difference.
I picked the car up and they had washed it for me, first time i saw it clean and i was impressed with the condition of the paint. The owner of the shop told me other then the motor mounts its a really solid car. He made sure to tell me the engine is very strong and responsive for its age.
The oil pressure is at 3 while the car is at idle and right under 5 cruising at 70. The temp goes all the way up to the last white mark when its stationary and back down to the first one driving. However it dropped half way under the first one for a while driving around 75 mph on the highway. Today is one of the coldest days of the year and that might have something to do with it.
Anyway here is a picture of the car when i picked it up and a couple from the temp gauge and the boost gauge. I will be having a bunch of questions for you guys the more i drive it so bear with me. Ill post some more pictures of it this weekend.

The picture of the car looks great but the temp and boost pictures are too dark. Must be the tint...
Car looks great. I am sure you will have many happy motoring miles ahead of you.

macfreak, don't get me wrong, the n/a engine is great, i enjoyed mine very much when i had it. Im only comparing it with the n/a because its the only other porsche i have had. And i cant compare it with the company cars i drive because they are all gm.
The last two pictures are horrible because it got dark while driving back home. Funny thing is the headlights popped up as soon as i got in the car. They had started it and it was running for a couple min before i got there to pick it up. The previous owner told me the lights only pop up after about 5 min of driving. I don't know if it needs a motor or a relay?
But man the car is great. Im just happy it runs good, i was worried that it was going to need alot of attention but no, everything seems great.
If the weather could only be a little better i would be more willing to take it out after work every day. Right now its cold and the roads are icy.
If anyone knows me you know i will be posting about 20 pics of it when its light out so stay tuned.

Sounds like a bad switch- check the wiring carefully- you dont want any (GASP) electrical mishaps orpotential of fire .

That sounds like a different language to me, i woudnt even know where to start. The most "mechanical" work i have done to a 944 is to change spark plugs and air filter. I did install a rear valance on the n/a but thats not really mechanical.
Where should i start with the headlights?
