Default Seat Covers?

I have leather seats that are in VERY good condition due to the fact the PO kept sheepskin on them. I cut the sheepskin off (it was NASTY) and have enjoyed the leather seats, but after getting out and having my cell phone in my pocket catch on the seat (no happy to see you jokes please), I want to get them covered again to protect them from dings.

Right now I have Costco covers but the seat backs are too tall and when you sit in the seat the bottom pulls off. This was just a stop gap measure...

I really want something that I can take on and off without taking the seats out of the car. Do not want sheepskin or "stimulated sheepskin" covers. Are there any brands or semi custom covers out there? I have done searches, but they come up for recovering (reupholsering), or for the sheepskin buy, but not plain covers.

Thanks!

Brad

WetOkole makes a custom fitted seat cover thta is basically a direct fit. They are made from Neoprene (wetsuit material). I have not seen or felt the covers in person, but have seen many pictures and can say that the fitment looks great. The only problem is that they are fairly expensive at $240. But i guess if you plan on leaving them covered rather than recovering, they may be a nice option.

I am on the cusp of ordering some Wet Okole's myself. Go to their website and check em out. They have 15 different Porsche images under the "gallery"...They will send color swatches to make sure you have a good match. Cheap? Nope, but they look GREAT from the ones that I've seen...

Do you think the nylon grips well?

It's not nylon, its neoprene - so it stretches to fit...

Its neoprene with two layers of nylon on the top and bottom, says right on there.

My point is that is stretches. If you are wondering if the nylon grips rather than being slippery, I can't say...As soon as my swatches come in, I'm ordering for my Volvo C70 daily driver. I'll give a full report...

Brad,

About a year ago I replaced my seats with a pair of beautiful 968's, and they stay wrapped in sheep. My Dad had a pair of black covers which he didn't care for, bought in 93' for ~$260, and these things look great on the new seats. I did a google for "rockymountian sheepskin co" with no results. Wish I could be of more melp.

I'm seriously considering a set of sheepskins from performance products before the summer gets here (s/b valley of the broiler...). They have a couple different solutions and the one I want has stitching that matches the seat's stitching. Not cheap though, they want $500 (+) for the set of 2.....

"valley of the broiler..." LOL
No kidding, when I find a car it won't have a garage space for a long time! OUCH
$500 is insanity for seat covers, must be really nice?

My wife referred to the Valley as the 7th plane of hades when we first moved out here....but now that we have grilled out every New Years, she is starting to enjoy it.....

I am trying to avoid blowing a chunk of money on the seats. It makes little sense to me to pay for seatcovers that cost nearly as much as replacing/repairing torn seats. I would like to keep it under $50 a seat for something that just pulls on and pulls off so I can enjoy the original seats without having to take them out to remove the covers.

My main problem right now is that the cheap covers I have as a stop gap don't fit. I might have to get someone to "make" me some...

Anyone with long term experience with the Wet Okole covers? I am this close to ordering but would love to hear from owners.

Joe,
If you're not in a rush, I'd love to buy em! Dont mind that theyre used, I'm sure genuine sheepskin is expensive. I'll give you a PM whenever that time comes around, hopefully you'll still have em.
