Default Keyless Entry on a car without power locks??

I'm fed up with dealing with locks that are frozen so bad I can't get the key in. I deiced and lubricated them today so we'll see if that helps, but is there any way I can put keyless entry on my car so I wouldn't have to deal with frozen keyholes anymore??

I know of some stereo stores that sell power lock kits for $100.00 a door or so, I think that's installed. Once those are in, then yeah, you can hook up a keyless entry system. I've been toying with the thought as well, but then my car makes something else die that needs replacement first.

I found something very funny the other day... I have an 87 944s with NO power doors. BUT when I took the door panels off, I found that the door lock actuators are there. They are there with two wires hanging out of each one. I talked to a friend at Porsche and he said that most likely they were installed in all of the cars, and the wiring and switch was not... Check, you might have them also!

If you're not lucky like my87944s, Autoloc sells some nice kits for decent prices. I got mine through autotechalarms.com (I think) and installed it over a weekend.

This and the one touch up/down window modules makes the car so much more...convenient.

The kits they sell are solenoids for power locks So the answer is, yes you can add it by adding a power lock feature

So i'm confused.... lol do I have to get power locks installed before I put on the keyless entry, or does the keyless entry kit have everything I need??

You'll need actuators if your car has no power locks. You'll probably need a power lock kit and a keyless entry kit.

Take your car to any alarm shop. I have them in all my cars.

I put keyless and power locks on my car this weekend. It was time consuming, but not difficult. If a local shop will do it cheaply, then do it. The parts cost me about $100 for power locks, alarm and keyless entry.

I got a kit for ~$100 and spent a weekend putting it in. Great thing to do. You can get 3 kinds of kits, one which just has solinoids for power locks, one with just the keyless entry parts, and one both. The power lock part took a while to install, but the keyless bit was a snap.

I got my kit from here http://www.a1electric.com/mes.htm

It works pretty well, but there was a strange short in it that keeps my turn signals on instead of flashing them when i lock/unlock the car. Other then that it's great!
Another thing I love about it is that I can push a button and the trunk just magicaly opens....That required an additional relay I picked up from radio shack and come interesting wireing though.
