Gas gauge?

Gas gauge?
My gas gauge seems to read a little inaccurately. My owners manual says that the capacity is 21.something, is this Liters? Because my gas gauge was reading empty , and I completely filled it up with only 14 Gallons.

I've had similar issues with the gas gage in my 951.
As a matter of habit I always fill up whenever the gage reaches 1/4, and the 951 never takes more than 13 gallons. Whit a full tank the gage would read just below 4/4, and when the ignition is turned off the needle would peg low.
This past weekend I pulled the gage cluster and "tweaked" the needle so the gage reads a tad higher. I also noticed that there is a small potentiometer (probably a span adjustment) attached to the gage.
Initially I considered pulling the tank sender, but when I checked the mounting arrangement, I decided to tweak the gage instead.
I've cleaned the tank sender on an early car, and it was a piece of cake. Just remove the cover, take out 4 screws, and then pull the sender out of the tank. However, on my 951 the mounting arrangement and hose attachments are different, so I decided to leave it alone.

Replace the sending unit. It costs about $80 IIRC. Lift up the rear deck mat and look for a small square piece of fire batting. Carefully peel that up (it's stuck on pretty well with adhesive and you risk tearing it if you're not a little bit careful) and you'll see the access door for the tank right under it. Remove the bolts for it and the sending unit is right there. Very easy replacement. Good luck.

I have trouble believing that the sender unit would go bad in that time - more likely bad external electrical connections.
Low-reading fuel gauge is a VERY common problem in 924's. It's caused by a poor ground. Certainly you should start by cleaning the electrical connections - both at the sender and under the rear taillights, at the main body ground. The last one that caught me, took a while to find and fix, was the ground for the sender. The connector for the ground was fractured, but the split was almost impossible to see - it's a riveted connection. I cut that wire off, crimped on a ring terminal, and bolted it under one of the bolts that holds the sender in the tank. That was the final step needed to get the gauge to go all the way to full.
This would be the brown wire in the first photo on this page:
