Default My 944 S2 For Sale

Guys

Just an FYI, I have my 944 S2 up for sales on ebay again. I'm leaving Porsche for a while and going over to the prancing horse. The new address with all the details on the car is:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...523578743&rd=1

The car is exactly as described. I don't think it sold the first time because at that time I had no pics of the interior, so I had my parents take some since the car is stored at their house. Just thought I'd let you guys know in case someone had some interest. BTW, I know the Buy It Now Price high, but why not put it there anyway; plus my insurance company agreed upon value for the car is 20K. The reserve is 13,500.

What's up blue? Good to hear from you. How are you doing? How's the S2?

Yea, I owned a 308 before, but my exgirlfriend decided to test the laws of physics and attempted to make a Ferrari 308 fit into the back of a Dodge Durango's tailpipe. Didn't work. I ended up having to sell my 944 turbo at that point since she wasn't an insured driver on the car.........$17,000 later I find this out.......that just sucked.

I miss the Boxster now, and I'm sure I'm going to miss the S2, but the Ferrari was a nice piece. I've never gotten to really enjoy the 944 because I just didn't have time to drive it. Besides taking it to Hershey and on a Porsche ralley type event I drove it like 5 other times. But I did enjoy the note of the exhaust...you were right on that one.

If they have the driving course again this year in VA, I'm going to try to bring the Ferrari (if i have it by then). Maybe I'll see you there.

That is one CLEAN S2! Good luck selling it. Better luck finding a nice 308!

Is the maintenance on the Ferrari as bad as they say??

You should come to some of the Rennlist drives or other local PCA events. Bring whatever ya want. No one minds F-cars or random others! Yeah, my S2 is FINALLY good. No more overheating! I had to go through the entire cooling system minus the waterpump. Ive packed it away for winter though. Funny, we havent even had snow or salt yet. It has been really rainy though so i dont mind it. If it stays warmer i might have to pull it out for a winter run.

Our PCA region is going to have a full autocross season this year, so you should check that out if you don't want to wait for the VA course. That course will probably be in March.

The maintanence on Ferrari is not as bad as everyone thinks. Annual maintenance is like $500 or so a year for changing all the fluids and such which is a little on the high side but not outragious. I remember paying $250 for an oil change on the boxster. Then I had so many little, annoying problems with that car that it cost me insane $$$.

The worst part of Ferrari maintenance is the 30K and the 60K. Those will run you like $2500 and is the equivelent tune up of the 944 belts, waterpump, roller, etc maintenance except for twice the price. The 45K and the 15K are about $1,000 to do so that's exceptable. The best part is my mechanic at Doughrety's also works on Ferrari so I know it will be done right and at a fair price.

The problem is if something goes wrong then your screwed. So either pay this small sum or get into a really big amount. That's why I'm sticking with an 84 or 85 which are the best of the 308 series. After that it goes to 88/89 for the 328's.

As for the autocrossing, I'll probably try it once or twice in the Ferrari just to get the feel of the car. I also have a show preped Sentra that I could use but that's my car for like Hot Import Night shows so I don't like to get it dirty.

It was great when I had the boxster becuase that was sort of my everyday Porsche so I did a decent amount of autocrossing in it. A shame the 944 never even saw an orange cone of an autocross track so I never got to see how these cars really performed.

84/85...... is that the QV ! Yeah i would go for one of those or a 328 myself. I have this thing that one day i need a white 308/328 with red leather interior! Just to pimp around my town, LOL!

Oh... and i see you never gotta chance to autocross your S2...i might be willing to swap a [gentle] run in the S2 for a run in the Ferrari if you are REALLY curious...

Andy, thanks! If things work out, i might be trailoring my car to the Parade this year for that concours! Plastic wrap here i come!

Album is in the final stage. Vocals just finished yesterday so all thats left are guitar solos and minor touch ups. We should be mixing next month finally. Things took longer, but we feel it will be worth it. Sample are coming real soon now. Everything will start moving much faster from here on out. We are beggining to plan the release party. EVERYONE is invited! More details on that soon.

We paid close to $5000 dollars for the 30k service on a 77 308 GTB. I remember the water pump alone cost $810.10, $260.28 for the belt tensioner, $38.50 for a timing belt, and lots of other various parts like seals and gaskets going for $60 dollars plus or minus some.

If your about to do the 30k on your 944, I hope this makes you feel better

I know exactly what you mean, better to be content with your work than say later on "i wish i could have done that better"...what are you using to record the music? Have fun with it.
