Dave,
I was waiting to see if someone would comment on Danno's reluctance. I really hated missing this last one, the weather was nice, car was primed to go, I needed a drive, but the Gods of Stuttgart were working against me after the tirew issue on Serge's car. I'm trying to get a late Spring drive together of a modified Markleville Death Ride with cars rather than bicycles. Is there any Bay Area interest in an overnighter covering Carson, Luther, Ebbetts, Monitor, and Sonora Passes. It would take the 'gotta get home syndrome ' out of the equation. Just a thought at this point. It seems the 1-day runs always result in a long drive home for someone, this would make a long drive home for everyone. I'm willing to take the hammer and plan it; my wife is a great co-pilot.

Yeah - I read that thread and saw the pictures. You have to agree that it was simply a freak accident. However, due to you guy's superior driving skills, no one was hurt.

What he said...

I went up to Boreal a few times in my 944 (once with 3 people and 3 boards). Versatility at its best!

Regardless, I had a little too much fun with the chains and managed to pinch my tire after doing a donut. Chain was remounted and i went home. Since then, I got a slow leak in my tire (refilled it every 2 days). All of the sudden I loose nearly all my pressure going 80 mph on the freeway.

It's by no means a tire defect.

Uh...the Yokos ES-100's have done well for me so far... no complaints. Unfortunately the NA died today on my son in Bum%uc% nowhere (Salmon Falls Road; yes Serge the 4-wheel slide marks are still there)...electrical problems, oh joy! He's home and the beast is in the driveway so all is well.

father2nate - Thx for the compliment. It really sounds like I missed a good time... Count me in for the next run!

Talking about tires... After my last track day in November, I replaced my slicks with brand new Michelin Pilot Sport Cups that I use for the street. 30 miles later, my rear tire blew out on the freeway ripping off the rear bumper and bending the wheel. I couldn’t plug this one...

Back in September last year, I had another blowout with a new Yokohama slick, this time at the track... I was lucky, nothing happened to the car besides the tire. I am very meticulous checking the pressure before and right after each session, and still...

Luis-

Next time we'll take a route that doesn't involve a 1 lane road where you'll have clearance issues

I'm thinking we should try the next route in Marin somewhere since all the events i've seen recently have been in the Santa Cruz / Peninsula hills. Anyone know any routes up in Marin or possibly in the east bay? There's not a whole lot up in the city by me

I know all the back roads in Marin and especially Sonoma counties. Absolutely beautiful country up here, especially Skaggs Springs road. Take a look on pashnit.com.

The Sacramento boys came out last summer for a north bay ride. I'll organize another one if there is interest !!

Talking

My wife had a healthy 7lb8oz baby girl on Sunday evening and they are both doing very well. We are all back home now after a ride back from the hospital in the 944 earlier today!!

We'll have her passing tools to me under the car in no time!!

It will certainly be a GTG I'll remember for a long long time - and it all happened on the first anniversary of me buying the 944!
