Yeah, I'm gonna adjust the idle as per azndrvr's instructions, but I'm not sure if I have an early or late 944 engine...

the engine itself is a 1988 924S engine, however, all of the components are from a 1987 924S...DME, all connections, sensors, etc.

Its a late engine with the late DME and probably high compression pistons if its an original 88 engine.

88 has different mapping than the 87. How is it running now that you have a 88 CR and running it with 87 A/F?

I thought its the AFM settings while both 87 and 88 use the same AFM.

Hi,

I am also interested in idle adjustment. Please provide an info about azndrvr's instruction. Link would be nice.

Thanks,
TK

Tom the idle can be adjusted somewhat. There is a adjustment screw located on the throttle body-8mm IIRC, start the engine and loosen the nut and turn CCW to lower CW to raise....IIRC. Be sure not to adjust this screw too much, turn 1/8th at a time till the desired RPM. I was running 1200 and now 975+ after this minor adjustment.
