Default Hello All

Just got my first 944. Well picking it up Sunday. I needed a daily driver that was better than 14 mpg Suburban. So why not a 944. she has 200 miles on the new timing belt and balancer belt. Any advice on things to check beside Brakes and oil leaks are welcome.

Hey, if the timing belt and balance belt have been done, find out when the waterpump was done last. Welcome to rennlist!
Looks like a nice car you got there! Just a word of advice, put your location in your avatar! Good luck with your new car!

Stone gray with Fuchs.. gorgeous car.

There are no oil leaks, it's just marking it's territory.

Not sure about a twin turbo but to upgrade to a turbo is a cake walk....

I sell the 944 and buy a 951

Or I find that 500hp SC kit that Mr Pinkerton says is available.

Dash cracks feel if the coolent overflow tank is flat if its no means the car has been over heated. Check the AC and umm tie rods for bends. and check the motor mounts.

Nice car! If the belts got changed 200 miles ago...dont forget you need to retension after 2-3k.

The good thing is that a very good friend of mine is a Certified Porsche mechanic. I am going to have him go over the car when I bring it home. I already plan on replacing the motor mounts. The guy calls it Gunmetal Grey but it is original so I am not sure what color Porsche would call it.

I think I am going to drive it home instead of trailer it. 300 miles should not be a problem. Then I will crack the front and check the belt tension. just to be sure.... No matter what this car needs at least I don't have to pay Labor so that is a big plus.

There will be an option code sticker above the spare tire on the metalwork in between the taillights inside the hatch, behind the carpet- it snaps off. All your info will be there- easy to decode.
