Default Buick hit while parked- probably totaled.

EDIT. frame damage.

Some kid was driving to fast for conditions.. almost took out our neighbors walking down the street. LUCKILY noone was hurt.
The Buick was parked..

I'm afraid the Buick may be totaled.. I'm guessing 1800 in damage. Both of the Toyota's airbags blew- driver said they were doing 30mph..

NOW WHAT!!??

Sigh - I'm guessing that was your Buick. Well, looks like you'll have to let the insurance companies handle it. I was hit a couple of weeks ago (by an idiot who was impatient) and his insurance company paid me right away. I still need to have the work done, but it looks like I'll be $1000 ahead. Still, too much trouble having to sort things out.

Good luck. Just one question. Did the kid who hit the Buick cry when you kicked him in the *** for being stupid?

Not Mine - "Chris's Chick's".. Patti isnt too pleased right now, but she understands it's a newer driver accident. The poor kid who hit her was really shaken up- I felt bad for him. He was about 20 or so and it was his first acident- AND ticket.

It's an accident- no one was hurt- thats the main thing.

"Casper the Friendly Buick" has just had a major rear ender, and no one was even in it.

I'm sorry to see that, Chris, but I'm very glad that no one was hurt. Also, I'm very glad that it wasn't your 924 parked there... Go out and thank the Buick for taking one for the team.

Chris,
Wasnt Topper the ghost that had the Buick?

Oh the useless trivia I think I remember (like when Porsches became galvanized).

Bet that Ken dude from Jeopardy didn't know that, and bet he doesnt know toppers first name is Cosmo..... i think.

It is only metal and plastic, plus it is a GM so no real loss.

Airbags go off at 14 mph I think i read somewhere. Think that Ken dude knows that?

The Bu-Ick took the hit nicely. Looks like it is still drivable. Maybe we should start a post about the crashworthiness of Bu-Icks

Hey....

That's my car! And you know what? I know it's not THAT wonderful of a car, but it has always gotten me where I need to go. And when the porsche has been down, it's gotten Chris where he needed to go too.

When I got divorced, I paid cash for it with my settlement. I've had no car payments and no real problems with it - the usual stuff that comes with daily driving of a car of that age.

Now I have to figure out the next step and take time off work to take care of the problem.

Yes, I'm upset. Not at the driver - accidents happen and my kids are that age. I know how they are. I'm really angry with the apartment complex and they'll will be getting a call from me first thing in the morning. It started snowing here on Wednesday and no sidewalk was cleared, not a single parking lot was cleared (except for the rental office on Friday - and they weren't even there).

Everyone had to park in the street because we couldn't get in the driveway to the parking lot. When I finally got someone in the office this afternoon, I was told all lots would be cleared by 5 tonight. Still not done. They told Chris the same thing and a neighbor 2 p.m.

I think they at least owe me a couple of months free rent if not more.

Hmm, FWD auto in park and hit fairly hard, better watch for tranny problems. Good luck sorting it out guys, I just got my lil accident settled. Be sure to stay on the ins. co's asses and they'll take care of you if they see that you don't screw around. I got an estimate and threw that in their face. They cashed out with me for 80 bucks less than the est. that I presented.

Glad to hear that it wasn't a porsche and nobody was hurt. I highly doubt that the driver was doing 30 mph. I used to work in a body shop in HS and that hit looks like it was at least 45 mph or more with a hard brake right before the impact.

14 mph? My dad was doing 55 when he smoked a deer in his 3 month out Taurus the air bags never came out. Car was repaired and after that drove like $hit, never bought enough ford after that now its all dodge for him.

Sorry Patti! You have a real understanding of compassion for the kid!

OK Chris it is now time to get really creative and get the 924S repaired.

"Oh I am sorry officer/ins agent, but I thought it was my Buick but it was my Porsche that is damaged"

That Sucks Patti! It still looks drivable though, maybe this will be a plus and it will get repaired and a nice new paintjob, thus better than it was before (ala the 6 million dollar man!).

That thing took it like a trooper. Good thing you didn't follow the pack and get those euro bumpers installed! LOL.

Sorry to hear about this Patti.

I think it's time to find a different apartment. You guys have had some bad luck in that parking lot.

Pete, the last straw here was quite some time ago- lease is up in March and were outta here.
It drives fine so far, I only drove it into the lot across the street- and it seemed normal.

I'm wondering about insurance- would both companies get involved if one car was parked??
