Short shifter
I am installing a short shift kit. I ran into a problem. It fits and all except for the **** itself. The original linkage that was in there was flat with rubber gromets which fit the ****. The new linkage is round and wont fit the **** correctly. Is it the wrong one or it there something I am missing?
Thanks,
Phil

Yeah most of the short shift kits are made to fit aftermarket ***** like momo, not the original porsche ****. Looks like its time to buy an aftermarket shift ****

well do the transaxle short shifters use the stock ****? they have nothing to do with the actual lever do they? i bought the sfr shortened lever a while back but i don't consider it a short-shifter.

The SFR setup essentially shortens the height of the shift rod, which in a way shortens the throw. They are exactly shortening the throw, just making the distance you need to move the shifter shorter. The ones on the linkage are really shortening the actual throw. Kinda tough to explain.

Isn't that the same thing, at least in principle?? I have one of the Autothority SSK which mount to the tranny. Instead of making the lever arm shorter @ the shift lever, the lever arm activating the shift rod is shorter. Same principle as you are not affect the distance the shift fork travels to engage the gears.
