Default Anyone have experiences with 7" head light lens?

I have noticed a few on eBay that are pretty cheap, anyone have experiences with these at all?

PS I know the iceshark kit has good reports but I cant justify the expense. So lets keep it on the 7" aftermarket lens options.

Here is an example

Anything in particular I should be looking out for?

All that money in the car and you can't justify $350 for some really damn nice headlights?

Getting some Hella H4's will be an improvement over stock. Hell, just about anything is improvement over stock.

Edit: Checked out that link. HID for $30? Want one of the electric superchargers with those headlights? HID kits cost hundreds of dollars.

Yes, I am aware most of the kits of full of crap, I have some decent bulbs I got locally, I am really only interested in an updated lens.

And yes, USD350 is way too much for light, no matter how nice the outcome for me.

So what is the H4 kit? What are its characteristics?

I had one of those sets on my 924 for a couple of months and they worked out quite well. The only thing I didn't like about it was the blue light bulb that is inserted into the housing to give it that blue glow. I took it out and sealed it up with some silicone sealer. Long term though they might end up yellowing. If I were to do it again I'd hold out and get some bosch's or hella's as they have glass housings and they are of higher quality. Normally they go for about $75-$80 a set on ebay.

You can get just the IceShark e-code headlamps to start. About $125 with bulbs. Then get the harness later or build your own.

Also, will it place extra demands on my existing light wiring causing melting or shorts if I just buy the headlights and bulbs? Are they RHD or LHD specific?

I have these in my cab with some decent 55w H4's:

They are pretty good and a lot brighter than stock and with a much better pattern. With the rocks on the road here I am not inclined to put expensive lights on the car.

One is a generic the other is a Cibie. That is like asking where the price difference come from a Miata to a Boxster, after all they are both convertible sports cars.

It is clear some of you have never seen/worked with Dans kits. They are probably the best "kits" of anything sold on this list. I would put his kits about 3 light years ahead of the factory stuff. Really his wiring makes the factory wiring look shameful (and it is BTW).

Can you do it cheaper? Yep, will the results be as good, no way, not a chance.

Its just not that important to have such advanced lighting here, I dont drive in country roads at night... I am sure the iceshark kit is great, but individually buying $500 worth of kit is like ouch!

Priorities are safety first, powder coated IC pipes, second. Know what I mean.

On a more serious note, you can use Euro E-codes (for RHD, they are made) and some H4s and I am sure it will be better than stock. A good H4 bulb is going to put stress on the electrical system. Sure would suck to burn the car down to save a few bucks.

Powder coated IC pipes = free

Over the top for my purposes lighting kit = several hundreds

I guess its some diamond cut lens and see how it goes! I dont drive at night that often and the stock are adequate, I was just looking for something a little more modern.
