HIBERNATION DAY!!!
Yep...today is the first day my 944 is officially in hibernation....I have the winter storage clause in my insurance policy.....Dec 1 to March 30......I took it out on Saturday for a last drive because the weather was nice here......now I can start looking at my winter projects such as steering rack, speaker upgrade, shocks, castor blocks...whatever else I can afford...it sucks putting it away for so long but that is better than getting road salt on it.....a ....

I used to be totally againsed "garage queens". Amazing how the pages turn....
After fully painting and detailing my 944 to a beautiful state, and picking up a cheap VW Passat for a daily beater, I love keeping the 944 in the garage and clean for nice weekend trips. Winter in Idaho is brutal and people just don't know how to drive either, so I am now the owner of two garage queens... Sigh.

I still get to drive mine once a week - unless it's raining. Salt is an evil substance sent from satan to rot the beautiful curves of the 944 and I'd avoid it if I lived up there too.

Hmm, I drive mine 365 days a year. It's gone through snow feet deep, freezing rain, everything.
I just hate it when we hit -45C, even then my block heaters only warm it to about -5C

I miss driving mine. Havent driven it in weeks. Soon it's going into the barn for the winter to be upgraded. Probably will come out for a dyno session or two then go back in till March, or April (I may end up driving it down to florida for a week or so.)

Yeah..I'm not against garage queens, but I don't have a garage or another car to drive...so mine can't be a garage queen...yet... but there is ONE time when I didn't drive my car in the snow, and the next day, I was out there, but got stuck...what a night...great fun.

I take it out in whatever horrible weather we have here in kentucky, but keep in mind i take it out on my w rated yokohamma tires.... so any more than a cm of accumulation and It won't make it up the driveway.
