Default help w/color id

Regrettably, I parted company with a 1990 944s2 back in '92 - I'm trying to ID (by official name, if possible) the color of that car - it was a metallic blue/silver - anybody have a clue as to what that color was called - or have a resource for finding out?

If all goes well there might be another one in my future!

Thanks, folks.

Porsche Colors by year:
http://www.porschete.com/porschete/9...fo-pintura.htm

I hope this helps out some. My guess is glacier metallic, but I've never seen Azureite or dove blue yet...

Here's another site to check out too:

You can also try Clark's Garage - there's a list of all colors by year there.

Okay, this is supposedly Azurite, so it's not that... I'm willing to bet it's glacier.

whoa...glacier blue looks a lot lighter in that pic...I saw an image of "petes944" (before the repaint?) that looks like it...I'd like to get the color code so I'll keep digging!

Thanks for the help! I appreciate the references, too.

The color code is in the first link I posted.

Here's the thread I'm getting the pictures from:

Got it! Recognized the name immediately - "baltic blue metallic" - the odd thing is that it's shown as a 928 color on the info at the jozef-porsche link.

I wonder if it was a special order at the time the dealer ordered the vehicle?

Thanks again for the help - esp. RMills!

I picked up this 1980 928 but don’t know the color. Closed color to me looks like Dolomite Grey.

Congrats! Looks like a great car. I would recommend asking the 928 forum. However, there should be a sticker in the door jamb or under the hood indicating the paint code. The 928 forum would know where this sticker is.
