Default Wheels for Sale:

I had an experience over the weekend that is going to leave me traveling quite a bit more than I had been, and due to the elevated expences that come with that I'm going to be clearing out my inventory of wheels:

Three sets will be up for sale:

1) 951 Fuchs: round, true, in need of polishing $1,000.00 Pics can be had after this weekend

2) 86 951 Phone Dials. Currently painted bronze, one front is out of round but the Yoko AVS tires on them are almost new. Good cheap set of wheels, or future track wheels. $350

3) OEM 18 inch twists, 18x7.5 and 18x9 (Et 55 and 50). Came off of a boxster S, perfect fitment for late offset 944s/968s. These can go for Local pick up in charlotte for $850 dollars. They are in great shape, but three of the tires need replacing. Cheap 18's, w/ OEM quality.

Local Pick up with all the wheels will be welcome, the third set of wheels is located in charlotte because my garage in Raleigh is about to be very full.

Thanks for the bandwith

Hey Ian,

You may want to consider advertising the 951 Fuchs over on the Rennlist 911 BBS and the Pelican 911 BBS.

911 guys are always hot for the 8" 951 Fuchs, they run them on the front because the offset is just right to be able to cram 8" wide fronts on there without any rubbing. Most would pay that much easily for the set and then sell the 7" rims off to recoup a little of the expenses.

Is it possible to fit the fuch 16x8 on the front of a'86 951 without other changes? Or, would this be way to much tire for the front on this car? I have fuch 7/8 right now just stock.

Mike,

I was under the impression that they would fit on the front of a 951 with out a problem. There is some debate over equal sizing all around, but I would like to run the same wheel and tire all around for rotational reasons.

Jeremy,

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a run if no one around here picks them up.

You should be able to get $300 or so for the pair of 7's, easily.

If they are 8/10ths with no curb rash they are worth more. Polishing the Fuchs out is not that difficult, fixing deep scratches on the lip on the other hand, quite a bit more taxing.

Hi do you have a pic of how out of round the whl is. Is the face of the whl bent, or the backside?

Is there a noticeable vibration driving it this way?

It is on the backside of the wheel, and before painting them there was only slight vibration, after the painting the vibration got a bit worse as I had knocked wheel weight off. I think if they were balanced they would be fine to drive on.
