I have the stable energies mount. I think that it cost about $50. It's very nice that it moves with the seat. It comes drilled for the Amerex extinguisher, so I had to drill some holes to mount my Badger halotron extinguisher. You can pick one up for the newly reduced price of $78, shipping included, here -> http://www.smokesign.com/2hafiex.html

I agree. I would contact both parties and have them try to come up with a package buy (both bracket and extinguisher) and a single piece buy (one or other).

911 and 944 seats are the same so we're talking just power or non power. The brackets look the same price regardless.

So we're really looking a group buy utilizing any two of the following four options(?):

Porsche bracket for power seats
Porsche bracket for non power seats
Chrome Amerex 2.5lb Halon
Red Amerex 2.5lb Halon

No matter the details, Im in this for one of each of the above.

what i did was i mounted it to the rear transmition coupler openeing behind the front seats.

you can get em refilled faithless. once you spray it, it all comes out, as the seal is forever broken and it all comes out. i still have my 1st one so i can get refilled when i get extra $$ so i can just keep one in each car rather than having to put it in each car when i go to drive.

btw the seal & everything is replaced when you send it back to safecraft to refill.

Pete, if I do manage to get something going, I will PM you and then we can contact John D. to ensure we can get his approval. Also, since the 944 has the same seats as the 911 (through the 993 bodystyle) we can crosspost this to get a better interest.

Sound good?
Sounds excellent! I'll point John D. to this thread and see what he thinks. Let me know what you turn up and I'll start a thread to post on all the main forums.
I think this is a group buy that should have been done long ago.

I'd also like to start a collection to get one for Brian so he can have one in his next Porsche. His misfortune gave me the kick in the pants I needed to start this after all.

Hey Pete and all..!!

OK - you bet!!! I'd really like to see a group buy on this move forward! I just gave Pete a "heads up" on a few Sponsors who may be so inclined to chip in.. One Sponsor did about 200 Halon extinguishers in about a month from that buy - so I think they'd be interested in another....

BTW: Yes - for track/street - I also have a fire extinguisher.... I need another for Jen's car - so count me in to whatever Pete goes with for a Sponsor....

Best to you!

John

John,
Thank you very much for looking at this. I looked at the sponsor's page to try and find who sells these and I saw a few. I will contact Pete to get the list of sponsors and then keep everyone posted on the results. Thanks again for everything you do!!!

FWIW I had a Stable Energies bracket mounted in my red S2, with 928 seats.

The bottom of the seat is the same. Where the stable energies bracket mounts are two relays for the memory function. I unscrewed them from the frame and using chicken ties (zip ties) mounted the relay to the springs on the bottom of the seat.

Soooo, you may want to get the shark guys in on this as well.

My birthday is next month. Should I email this thread to her instead of the GTO brochures I've been spamming her with?

John, I really appreciate the offer, however it would not be fair to borrow money for my car after spending around 4K in mods and parts, especially certain parts "just cause they look better" such as a new expansion tank. I have the money, but i need to keep it until I start working again, as I quit the porsche job. I have been hired and should start soon, but its only part time. I also have a new business venture with a freind/partner. I don't expect to make money with that any time soon, as we are putting money from sales back into the business to build it, to grow, and develop more products. Look out though, in a few months there may be some 944 and other model parts, and Rennlist may have a new sponsor.
you can see what were doing at our website, advice welcome, please!

Thanks again, but I'll work it out myself.

P.S. I'm honored by the offer!

2.5lb of Tri-Gas or Halon is good enough for a car fire. If you empty it and the car is still burning, get away. You'll have about 20 seconds of constant spray time... but it is better used in 2-3 second pulses.

Compressed inert gas extinguishers ususally employ a few techniques. The gas itself is used as a coolant, taking away heat for combustion. Halon and Tri-Gas bond to availible oxygen taking away air. Cool stuff huh? Go buy one.

John -

Have you seen any of the PM's I sent you? I'd like to chat!!

I'm in. I'm short on cash but with a new paint job coming and all might as well throw that into the repaint. I'm at around 2k now a little more debt won't harm. I'll have everything paid off by the new year anyways.

I have a Stable Energies fire extinguisher bracket (FEM3) for sale. It was originally $49.95---I will sell for $25 plus shipping. It is in perfect condition and was only used for 4 DEs. PM me if interested.
