Default Private Messages, Read receipts

Am I the only one who hates private message read receipts? I hate them almost as much as those stupid 'PM Sent' posts (as if the email and popup is not enough to indicate you have a new PM.)

I actually like the read receipts. Lets me know when/if someone read my PM or not, so that you can track them down if they don't read it.

If you hit cancel when the popup comes it will send without them. I usually complain to senders (if I know them) to not send me those.

I don't think its such a big deal, but the only desire I do have, si that when your sending a message, there should simply be a check box to send the receipt request, rather then have that little dialogue pop up in your face.

LOL, well you do slip up and send me a RRR every once in a great while!

I've gotten better, I usually resists the urge to keep hitting "accept" to every little pop-up window that displays on my PC.

I agree. It's ridiculous. If I want to get back to you after I read the message I will send you a message.....if not, I won't. It makes me feel obligated to send a reply if a read receipt is sent....or else the person may get all bent out of shape that I read their message but didn't feel the need to reply...or didn't have the time....

Wait i think I misunderstood.. Do you mean you never get the receipt that someone actually read it? You have to go to where you can switch between your sent and received messages, there should be a message tracking tab. You can see it there I believe.

UD, on the drop down, there is a box for Inbox, Outbox, and Read Receipts. Took me forever to find it to.

Right under the "Jump to Folder" drop down box there should be a link that says "You have _ confirmed and _ unconfirmed private message receipts"

it is _much_ better not having the receipt box filling up like on the old PM system, but I do not care to have to confirm them and cancel out of them all the time. I suspect the annoyance is not a good trade for the usefulness. Just MHO.
