I was trying to request a new catalog for my 1977 924 and I dont know for sure what my cars options are called.First question is if my car is considered a targa.It has a whole removable roof piece.Its not a sunroof.4 Snaps hold it on the roof.

Second question is what is a triptronic transmission?My car couldent have it right?Here is some info on it.

1977 924(Hatchback Rear Window)
2.0 Overhead Cam 12(?)1 c.i. Engine
4 Speed Transmission
I think it has a Limited Slip rearend.

What catalogue were you trying to request?

There are a number suppliers for parts. Check out the Rennlist Sponsors page and look at Paragon, Pelican,Zims, Rennbay, etc.

There are also good dismantlers that are a great sources for used parts. Look up Parts Heaven and Oklahoma Foreign.

You car is an automatic not Tiptronic. The tiptronic tranny allows you to manually select gears in an automatic transmission. It first appeared in the 964 series 911s and 968s.

Actually my car is a 4 speed standard not an automatic but your saying tiptronic is on a 4 speed auto tranny?

I was trying to request a catolog from tweeks I think it was called.It seems like they just have aftermarket stuff though.I need some replacement parts.

A good catalog is performance products, try their website, also tweeks i think is now called Mia America Motorworks. I hope this helps.
Also, I don't think your car is a targa, 944s also have a removable roof.

Targa refers to a one piece removeable roof from door pillar to door pillar. You have a sunroof.

The catalog companies are Mid-America and performance, if you request a catalog now it should ship in a few days, both have new catalogs out this week.

Tiptronics are late model Aitomatics - there are 4spd w/od and 3 spd auto's.

It's removable instead of see through.

It's just a large sunroof. They never made a Targa 924 or 944.

Technically, if it's see through, it's a moonroof.

There's no dictionary entry for moonroof but sunroof is defined as a removable roof panel.

I agree with pete. If you can see through it, it's a moonroof.

The Targa top is 911 only thing.
