if they are 1/2" drive-impact size- then i can use the sockets...i think the wrenches would be useless on this thing-very tight.

They are 1/2" drive, but not impact. Useless then? I could bring my BF breaker bar.

what all do you need dan? i have a 36.. might have a 30... cant remember... think they are snap on. ill have to look.

i cant wait to check out the motor dan! im already doing research on the conversion. looks like bigest issues are modifying sheet metal and modifying motor mounts (which i want to be careful about doing b/c im gonna put the 616 back in when its done)

DOH! now im not gonna be able to fight back to the claims that my car has a vw motor!
but on the bright side.. im gonna still be able to drive while i take my time and pour a small fortune into rebuilding a monster type 616 engine!!!! (616= 912/356 engine designation)

*grin*

bound to cover just a little more ground,

man i could use that! If i had the time or money to go to the metal place i would build those. I have a new plan though after fighting w/ engine stands and such. I have a large I beam that is running across the roof of the garage w/ an engine hoist that rolls across it side to side. Chalk the front wheels, chain around the rear bumper, and stand that baby on the nose. I did it tonite and its not too bad! When the bumper touches the ground the other touches the ceiling, alitte un-nerving though, especially w/ the motor in.

yeah but we arent talking football players either rock.. and that could get tiring, even if its 1000 lbs.. remember we would have to hold it while he welds the floor back in.. which could take a while..

xs, it is possible to weld the floor pans in while lying on your back, just harder. BTW the teener will weigh about 1800 stripped down to the shell. Motor and trans together weigh 300. The axle bolt is VERY VERY VERY tight. I tried a 4 foot section of ERW seamless tubing on a socket wrench. Didnt move.

hm, i think the car is about 1900 all together....minus doors/hood/other hood/trunk/gas tank/motor/trans/linkage/ suspension/exhaust/seats/lights/wheels etc.....im thinking 1000lbs or less. I also have some pipe that i can cut and weld to be a "just in case" support beam.

I'm in, I got a list of toys to bring too. No 954 this time around, tags are expired and I'm going to go for collectors tags a little closer to spring time. I'm hoping to bring dad's 951 if I get a few things done in time. If not, I'll be in the nuclear mileage, silver array, daily car. Seeyas there!
