Default Is this even worth a look?

So it fell in the water. If the engine wasn't running at the time, would it be ok? Of course, the interior is probably trash. Aside from that would it have a chance?

That's gotta be full of mold, right?

Dont they tear down the engines on flood damaged cars to look for sediment, etc.?

If you only need parts you might do ok, if the buyer might take a little less, but for a driver, forget it.

I got an email from the guy selling it:
Hello sir,

To answer some of your questions it does not run at all
though i have not taken it to a shop to have it looked at
i have only tried to trouble shoot it myself. it is not
moldy the interior shows signs of water damage but luckily
(if you wanna call it that) the car was stollen during
summer so it had a chance to air dry so to speak. The car
was stollen by a person whom was later caught, however the
steering collum was not broken in the action of stealing
it. the canal was a fresh-water irrigation canal and the
car was discovered one day after it was stolen so it didnt
sit and stew so to speak in the canal for very long. The
car got some water in the motor however i was quick to
drain the oil and flush everything to insure that the car
was preserved as much as possible (ie taking the spark
plugs out to let the cylinders dry, etc.) I do not have
any pictures on my computer of the car as it is now
however i will try to get some to you as i ca... if you
have any other questions feel free to contact me at (209)

Hey,

You will never get the smell of mold out of your car. Believe me. My dad have a convertible he left open for 2 hours in the rain and it smells to this day. He removed the complete interior...replaced everything that wasnt salvageable and it still smell. It also still has electrical gremlins after YEARS and that car has hardly ANY! A couple of comments....

Water will damage more than an engine (if it's not running). Like stated above - electrical issues are bound to be a constant hinderence to your enjoyment of this car.

Second - sounds like the guy's either hiding something or something isn't on the up and up. My spidey sense is tingling...

Third - are you sure this guy isn't from Nigeria? Walk away and search for another.

Yeah, I'll leave this one be. I wouldn't mind something to tinker with, but i would like it to work at least from time to time
