Default Got a wave from a 911 driver

I was driving home yesterday on Hwy 5 in Marietta, GA and a 911SC passed by and gave me a wave and a His car sounded pretty cool.

Me too!! This morning in Wayne, NJ on Berdan ave / Breakneck road there was a blue 996 Cabrio going the other way - I flashed (my lights), and he flashed back! Them 996 owners are starting to come around...

Man, I always wave at other porsche owners, and I just get strange looks... one guy even gave me the finger. People up here are pretty rude, lol.

I saw an interesting program on parallel universes this morning.

I'm certain that in a parallel universe, there is a 911 owner with a fragile ego typing on a BBS right now: "Hey, got a wave from a 944!". His life is probably validated now and he can die a happy man. Either that, or go on a wild killing spree. I dunno, I got distracted by the Girls Gone Wild infomercial while I was flipping channels and didn't finish the program.

It didn't validate mine so why would it someone elses. Besides unless one is in in this for status only we are all car nuts anyway, we just have different preferences or budgets. I just like the true car enthusiast spirit.

I wave at 911 owners and get it returned all the time! I just pull up next to em, honk the horn twice and wave. They laugh, and return the wave, and I speed off.

Boxster and Cayenne owners on the other hand, I've only gotten a wave off of a Cayenne owner, and he had the most confused look on his face like "Why is a punk-*** kid in a Mazda RX-7 waving at me?"

Probably because now that the 997 is out, the ones who were just driving 996's for the status and to have the expensive new sportscar, are now ditching them and only the enthusiasts still own the 996. (or more anyway)

I get waves and high beam flashes from most 911 guys with 993 and older 911s. 996 guys seem to not have a clue about what car I'm driving. :|

I just dislike folks who dont know me pretending like I care that they drive a Porsche. I really dont care if they think its great that Im driving one too and decide to wave. I guess I just dont see the point. I realize its supposed to be a cameraderie thing (WadeB Mr Spelling Bee champ did I spell that right?), but if I know you thats one thing, but if I dont, why would you wave at someone you dont know. That just makes no sense to me. You dont wave at the guy in the produce section of Krogers because he has roma tomatos in his basket too. Think about it. Thats all Im saying.

I typically flash my lights or wave at every Porsche I see while I'm driving. Most of the time they seem not to notice me. I have got positive responces before from other Porsches. Typically it seems that people who really appriciate Porsche's in general will wave or something. Really, people who tend to drive newer Porsche's just don't understand or don't care. I've been waved at by drivers in older 911's while I was driving my 944 N/A. Typically it is PCA members or somehting similar that wave or flash their lights.

I know where that is in Marietta. I like the 911SC's, they look nice I think. I just really want to upgrade to a nice looking and running 944S2 though.

man, you wanna year parellel, once I was on 495 around dc. and where 495 splits off on the north side, just as the two highways were merged (like 6 + lanes) I saw 2 other 951's merge into the same lane as me. all three of us were in a line. lasted about 30 seconds, but thats the only time it will ever happen and I was there and in it
