OK, Bizarro Pete!

My Rennlist moment was eyeing Pete's white 944 everyday when I would ride my bicycle to work. Saw him post on Rennlist once and PM'd him, asking if it was the same car that I saw on the way to work. He said "Yep, come over and have a beer". The SOW was born.

Dan (XSBoost) and Andy (Nine44) are my best rennlist moment, all of the stuff they have done for me including some free parts and some body repair have saved my life! I never could have done it without them, and i never would have met them had it not been for Rennlist!

I hung out with Alonso off the 911 board on here at SpeedFest '04 here in San Diego and it was freaking awesome! They had old 3.0 CSL track cars there and some hella fast old school 911s! Oh and some guy brought a 934 there!

944Fest, easy. Close seconds are any of the gatherings we've had around the area.

I've always been curious, what does "SOW" stand for?

Meeting the guys at Rutt's in NJ or
Meeting the guys at Floyd Bennett Field in NY or
Meeting the guys at D&B in Cinci or
Getting what I paid for the 968 wheels I sold to Gelefsky or

Getting the wheels back!!! Oh Yeah!!!

No, it was none of those. It was getting such an overwhelming, unanimous and friendly response from all my Rennlist brethren when I asked that avatars be toned down.

Running into Dan P. at Mid-Ohio after only using rennlist for like 2 weeks. Went to a DE event there and met him along with his friend and their wives. Got to run my friends black 951 he bought down here in florida. Lots of fun.

My best Rennlist moment... I don't think I can choose just one. Seriously, Rennlist has defined a lot of what I remember most fondly of my adult years. A few highlights...

Getting to know Mr. Don Istook, and learning how the Gods wrench on 944's.

Meeting Lee Lichtenstein and Oliver Pinkpank from Chicago, two folks that I am honored to call my friends.

Meeting Jim Demas, Jim Cooper and John Pohl out in the bay area, courtesy of Porschelist, long before the web forums even existed.

Playing a small part in the creation of the Cooper Cup

Having my design chosen by the email list for the "Porschelist" decal, people still actually talk about those things from time to time! I copied the profile from the Parts and Tech manual, and then Mike Green inserted the text

944Fest '03, awesome group of folks and the second best get together I have been to

Being associated with the KCWS, and getting to wrench with my pals on a regular basis. Its made owning 944's a lot more enjoyable

Meeting John D at Tweeks (in 2002, I think...). Truly an honor.

DO I really have to pick one?

Regards,

I like the ever-popular Rennlist lady help.

I was in a bad situation, actually not with a girl (for once), and I asked for some advice. Instantaneous. Lots of good folks here.

I think my "moment" was when I first logged on, and found what a resource this can be. Didn't even own the 944 then. I think Scott advised me "... at that price, what do you have to lose?" I'm glad that I decided to find out. It's not what I lost ($$$$) to get it running right, but what I gained in friendships in getting it there. I would not have met what was destined to become "The Texas Greaseslingers" and my best friends if it weren't for Rennlist.

Hard to believe, there was a weak 944Fest before Rennlist made it like it is now. A handful of cars, a short afternoon. But that all changed when I opened it up to Rennlist.

We rapidly grew from 10 to 50. The stunning thought that folks would drive from New Hampshire, Georgia, Kansas, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, Wisconsin, and all over Ohio to join the party was amazing to me. (who did I forget?) The great folks with common bonds that grooved and clicked together. The honor of John D gracing us with his presence. It all still amazes me. I've been to a LOT of car shows in my day, but I'm proud to say nothing ever was close to this. Rennlist has made the 'Fest what it is. Is it an extended family here at Rennlist? Yep.. It is nice to have so many brothers and sisters!

Meeting all the guys in the TGS group, hell we just all showed up at Kevin's house one day!

Having Red1 and goingboeing737 help pull the engine and say "You know, it will never be easier to do XX" and they were right, too bad it took me a year! Thanks guys!

Moving to Chicago and having a group of people I had never met show up for my housewarming!

Just tonight after staring at my new Turbo for over a year (yeah, I am that lazy) Evil944t and I FINALLY installed one very good looking T04E. 10 more hours and we might actually make ignition on this sucker yet!
