I don't know man. You better at least drive it once,, and then decide. Don't sell it before its running.

Good luck on whatever youd o. Since youve spent this much time, And would only get 4,000 for it.. I'd keep it. See, if you keep it until you eventually move out and have it under your own ownership, you could sell it for at least 6-8 with everything youve done I bet. Then youc oudl keep all the money.

So i say keep it for now.

Only if another 1-in-a-million buyer like this came along.

I'd sell it and just get something else for the time being. There's other good cars out there, and you can always get another one down the road.

I think you guys are missing the point of that hes only going to get 2 grand for it. The 13.5 that shes going to pay really doesn't mean anything. He can drive a 14,000 dollar 944 for 4k, wouldnt you buy his car for 4k? the engine is amazing now.

This has got to be a joke, why is this lady going to offer this amount of money for a car without doing some sort of comparison shopping? Where did she come up with the $13k figure to begin with?

You don't just fall in love with a car and pick a price out of your head and offer to buy it for that amount. You first check to see what the thing is even worth.

If she's serious tell her to give me the $13k and I'll find her a decent NA and give you a percentage of the proceeds :-)

Don't fall in love with it unless you can take it to bed!

Is he going to be in debt to them for the difference if he doesn't sell? If not, then keep it. If you will owe your parents thousands, sell it. Also, consider if you parents could really use that money for something else.

It's time to renegotiate with your parents! You have to wonder what will happen between your mom and this woman, once see figures out how much see overpaid?

SELL IT. No one cares about what the previous owner spent on the car. Even if you have 50k into the car, its only worth market value and 13.5k is about twice of market for a perfect one. My friend Steve R in OC spent probably over 80k into his race car to get around 20k for it later. Market value.

Of course your mom wants you to sell. Shell get compensated. Youll get screwed out of a sweet car. Don't do it.

I've thought about selling my n/a numerous times. But I feel like im selling out. I can almost bet ill always have it around.

Serge,
I bet you wouldn't feel like you were selling out if someone gave you $13.5K for yours...that's enough money to easily buy into the "Dark Side" of 951 ownership.

Just to clarify, he's not getting most of that money. His parents (who from what I gather have paid for a lot of the repairs) would be getting their money back, and he'd be getting $4,000. Slightly more than what he paid for it.

If I were in your position, I'd sell it.

Ok, seems like youre giving us two sets of different information. Are you gonna be able ot keep the 13.5k or are you getting 4?

Steve, if someone offered me 13.5k, i would undoubtably sell. From what jake said earlier though, it didnt sound like he would get to keep the money.

Will this lady still be friends with your mom at the bank after she finds out the actual resale value of a 944? I still don't know what makes your car so special but that kind of money for an NA is unheard of in my experience. I say sell but be ready for repercussions if she checks the market value.
