Default how to change a timing belt on video or DVD

hi

i was wandering has anyone ever made a video or DVD on how to change a timing belt on a 944,944s,944 turbo
as i am in the UK and unable to attend any of you timing belt parties i have came up with this idea if anyone would be kind enough to make up a short film for me i would be most great full and i would buy them a pint or two of beer if i ever get the chance to come over
i would prefer if it was a film of changing both the timing belt and the chain that runs both cams on a 944s

as they say a picture is worth a hundred words

cheers big al

There is a maintenance video that was made but they are rare. Good luck hunting.

Grassroots Motorsports did one, I believe. Do a search for them and send an inquiring to them via their website.

its half way there but if theres one that would also cover the chain that drives the two camshafts in the 944s that would great

someone must have made a [how to do it] change the belts and chain that is

I have never heard of this before. It would be a great way to give the first time person a good step by step. Maybe it could even have some step by step dialog, like "turn me off now, and turn me back on again when you have have [some part] removed."

Someone should make one on here

hi

i was just thinking if the Moderators made up a short film for each model they could then sell it to us for a small profit and that would help then to maintain this great site and if it was possible to e mail or to be able to download it from here there would be very little expense

hopefully they will take up this idea in the future

if anyone else would be interested in this please add your name post below then the moderators will see if there is any interest in this idea

There is always Clark's Garage .
I recently tackled my own waterpump/belt job with the help of the instructions on Clark's Garage. I had the job completed in less than a week just working a few hours a night, and I'm pretty meticulous about getting stuff exactly right.
I would consider it a relatively easy job now that I've done it once. Sometimes you just need a little encouragement to get in there and JUST DO IT.

I've got VHS tape I could digitize into an AVI file for you. I don't think dubbing it or making a DVD would work for you since we've got NTSC and you've got PAL. Unfortunately, it covers only the early cars without auto-tensioner and doesn't cover the change in balance-shaft pulley markings.

All you'd need to play a DVD would be good multi-region DVD software for the computer.

Ok, gonna dig out the tape and see if I can compress it into an AVI file. Even with lots of compression, it might be in the 100mb range. Sending a CD might be a better solution. I'll you guys know what the final file looks like...
