Car out of commition....AGAIN!!!
I am so pissed off right now. After running some diagnostics (thanks to boostin) I have determined that my starter is shot. Well, that was a fun two weeks of driving my car......anyway, looks like another 6 months before I can save the money up to get this one rebuilt.....so pissed right now...

Bloodraven sorry to hear that ....but in all honesty if it takes you a couple of months to afford a starter...a 951 probably isn't the best car for you.....these cars will nickle and dime you to death.

Man, Bloodraven, I'm very sorry to hear about your bad luck. That's a pretty sweet deal that Ian has offered you (down to installing it ), but if it falls through, the best price on a Bosch starter that I found when I replaced mine in my S2 back in April was at AutohausAZ. It is remanufactured by Bosch and goes for $133.00. That's not too much less than Pelican--$146.00 or Paragon--$150.00, but hey, it helps.
Here is a link for you so that you can take a quick look:

He said that he heard a single click and nothing afterwards. He did the headlight check so his battery is still good. Though I'm used to repeated clicking after starters melt internal wires (burnt motors), this is pointing to a brush problem in the DC motor. When they wear down, the contacts inside will simply lock up with the extra play and only take the voltage from the solenoid and stall it.
Rebuild time, Timmo. Sorry to hear it... but can I tell ya how much you'll get used to PDs?? I'd seriously consider Ian's offer if it were me.

Well at least you didnt finally get your car running after 10 months and then while just doing a little thing, puncture the radiator and have to spend 300 dollars to replace it!!! I am soooo dumb.

Sorry to hear that.... What's wrong with the starter? Have you determined that it's not repairable? If you do purchase a rebuilt one, I got one from these guys for a very good price: http://autoexpress.safeshopper.com/2094/cat2094.htm?342. Their core charge is so low that it's almost not worth bothering with.

Hey Bloodraven, I have a solution that might interest you...
If your car is not running and you are not driving it, then remove the starter yourself and take it to be repaired at a starter and alternator shop. I bet there are plenty in the yellow pages in your town. Call around and you may be surprised...I payed $130 CDN to have mine rebuilt...works fantastic.
