There is a nice full-page spread on page 5, Erich. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming searchable database of previous issues of Excellence! That will be very helpful.

This is why I dont subscribe to mags. I buy off the shelf, and stand there for 10 mins pre-reading to see if I *WANT* to buy it

I would have been PISSED subscribing to European Car and then they drop the damn 951 Project for a few months.

Man, I love 911 and Porsche World. I didn't even think to check if they had a website - duh! Talk about being out of phase with the times! I had a blast just looking through the old covers. Now I want to order a bunch of back issues. The only thing I don't like about the articles is they always state the price of everything in pounds. Guess I am too dumb to remember the approximate conversion rate to dollars!

I think it's great -- I love having entertainment come to me (rather than going after it). I just read the on-line article on the Bonneville 928 and liked the article. And, I look forward to getting mags in the mail b/c they are fun to peruse -- they are entertaining. I wouldn't consider them particularly useful however....

Somewhat wishful thinking to expect that! Look how long it's taken them get to that "trendy" thing called an "Internet presence" up and running. I wonder how the writers have been communicating to each other, via carrier pigeon or pony express? These guys appear to be riding on the extremely dull-edge of lo-tech - which is so ironic here in the Bay Area. Lo-tech doesn't mean that you are any more old-skool, just means that they're slow to adapt and get with it- kinda like a Neanderthal man with a Turbo sporting a MoTec.

Need: At some point I will process some good 944 articles to Adobe Acrobat, suitable for printing. I have a couple already, but not open for D/L (just yet).

Does this mean we will have online access to back issues, especially indexed articles by Jim Pasha or others on the 944 series?

Otherwise, how does one get access to works by Pasha et al?

911 and Porsche World is without doubt the best porsche magazine available today. They have so much 80's water cooler coverage too. Excellence really doesnt compare...

Agreed!!!!!!!

I'm tired of the old 911 vs new 911 coverage in Ex911ence.

I still browse through it at the newstand. Only to see if there is anything of interest.

OK, how do we get online access to back issues, either "911 and Porsche World" or "Excellence?"

As far as "Excellence" goes, I'm afraid you don't... They just now established a web presence, and at this point, it is just that. In fact, by the looks of their advert in the latest issue, online access to back issues isn't on their radar. A searchable database of past issues is, however. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news...

If someone were to post here on Rennlist some scanned pages out of back issues of Excellence (say, the Jim Pasha technical articles on 944 stuff), or similar stuff from the Brit. magazine, would that be OK?

Or, would Excellence get all snippy about it? Seems to me, we could ALL use such a reference library.

Excellence isnt losing anything as back issues are not available. If they get snippy, they need to take the 10 foot pole out of their ***.

That would be great! Please let me know when they are available.
People will know one way or another, but it won't be out in the open e.g., "hey everybody look at me!' Like Stewart on MadTV.

If Excellence didn't get snippy, I'm sure John would, it's called "copyright infringement" (or whatever!). Now you know!

Excellence isnt losing anything as back issues are not available. If they get snippy, they need to take the 10 foot pole out of their ***.
Since when are back ssues not available? It says in the mag "Back Issues of Porsche/Excellence Still available for $8.00 each", unless you've written them and asked if they had issue x, y, z and said no, then maybe, but otherwise, I think not. Anyways, that 10 foot pole in their *** will be there regardless ! (link).
