well, the Britney video is out where she drives a 944 / 928 into a pool. Yahoo insider has the full clip.

Sucks I suppose, but I can't say I blame them too much... It is a *Porsche*, and it probably only cost them 1k bucks or so...not like it needs to be that nice or anything. Although, one would think they could afford a much nicer car for that stunt. Even a kit car would do; I assume they could easily afford a Lambo kit car or something of that nature. Video seemed rather uninspired and lame...

some unnattractive scenes, bad editing, a little airbrushing would have done wonders, bad music choice- probably got the props for under 2 grand..
HEY- I just remembered, there is a Porsche in there!

Thank God for satellite radio...do any radio stations actually play this stink! Call me bias but Britney's going to look like a stuffed pork roast in 10 years at the most. I guess I'm just ticked about wasteing a 928...probably be on eBay next month with "minor" electrical issues.

The 1949 DeSoto taxi used in the Cyndi Lauper "True Colors" video came with my house six years ago. I sold it for $200 and bought an intake manifold for the Firebird. No regrets.
So what it's a Porsche. It was probably a $1,000 Porsche with a bent frame, bad motor, smokey torn interior etc. that needed a good cleaning anyway.
I read in Rolling Stone some twenty five years ago about the Firebird they totalled for a Rockford Files scene. They bought a junker, painted it and threw it off a cliff.

Yeah, the 928 that they drove around wasn't destroyed...they used a 944 for the pool part. More than likely it was on the way to the scrap pile anyways. They usually don't destroy running cars for those things, like the 911 they trashed in Old School. If you watch the DVD commentary they say that it had no motor or interior in it, etc....that's usually how it's done. If you look closely at when Jeremy Clarkson drops the 911 from the crane, it has no motor in it either.

They just had a 30th Anniv. Dukes of Hazzard festival in, Kentucky (?) I think, this past summer. In addition to the surviving cast members, there were many previous General Lees (all bondomobiles) and a lot of stunts with cars jumping, flipping, etc.
I didn't know Britney Spears was still around until these 944-in-a-pool threads started popping up!

hell yeah XM rocks. ive had mine for over 2 years now. I love it.
what is the deal with music these days. just about everything is about fitty's and fortie's gang bangin' hustlu's and weman with huge asses and stuff. and all these artists think they are unique.... I could throw on a FUBU jersey and talk fast to a beat about how many hoes I got and stuff... maybe i could make some bling as well...
I listen to older stuff now because i got so sick of all new music being the same stupid stuff.
XM channel 7 is about all i listen to.

Figures all Brittney spears does is rip-off a lame Bobby Brown tune! Way original, Brittney! Good job!
There are about 4 good new tunes out on radio that I have heard (One is the new 7 Mary 3 tune, the other is the new Green Day tune, and the third is a Velvet Revolver tune. Scorpions are number 4). Everything else is a screaming idiot and hard guitar behind him.
Bring back Dokken or Whitesnake any day!
