Default Couple of questions?

I am going to take my 924S to the drag strip. I just did a couple of G-Tech runs and its best was a 16.4 sec. I think thats not bad. Don't know how accurate it is but thats what it did. What should I not do so that my R&P will not blow up? I don't want an answer like don't go at all because I want to see how well it runs before I start tuning it.

That's what I was going to say, but, well, nevermind.

If you are planning on drag racing on a regular basis, count on the r&p on your 924S becoming a crunchy paperweight. The only way to prevent this would be to do very soft launches and easy 1-2 shifts. Unfortunately, that method of driving is not going to garner you good 1/4 mile times.

I am not a drag racer this for benchmark purposes only. Also I have just recently switched to mobil 1 for my tranny fluid.

Mobil1 won't save you.

If you want to see what difference your tuning makes, a dyno run is more accurate and is less expensive than a broken tranny.

I don't get this. I know this car is made in Europe but why did Porsche make the ring and pinion so weak on these cars. They have the best engineers in the world and can't make a strong r&p.

They don't drag race in europe.

R&P is plenty strong for road racing.

If you drag race any car, something is going to give sooner or later. It may be the clutch, it may be the tranny. IF you raced the neon, eventually the same thing would happen, but it may take longer becasue you aren't pushing as much power.
