Default Any clever ideas on wheel and tire packing for shipping?

Going to be shipping some wheels and tires. I will be using FedEx ground for delivery due to discount shipping rates. But does anyone have any clever ideas for box up. Leaving tires on wheels and thinking of shipping two at a time in one box with cardboard and peanuts.

I shipped some back east same way in two boxes. I bought them at a shipping store. I bought 3 x-tra cardboard divider, one at each end and one to separate the wheels. If the rim face sticks out further than the tire (993 Cup) like mine did, add a rigid styrofoam spacer (celotex insulation from Home depot) also with a hole cut out so they don't touch. Fed Ex doesn't like round packages that don't stack well.

I wish I sold them! I was using them as an example. I sold the OEM blingers that came on the Q45 last year.

take big pieces of cardboard and cut them in a circle using the tire as a guide. get the plastic stretch wrap at staples or any office supply store and wrap the sukas.

stick label on and you are done. total cost of materials is the cost of the stretch wrap, and there is plenty left over for the next seven sets you ship.

when i bought some wheels/tires recently, they were sent individually and stuck in a garbage bag and taped up. i wasn't real happy with the packing job because it would have been easy for the face to get scratched. i would probably send each one individually and put that thin foam to protect the face. I think cardboard will scratch the finish.

I do what Tom described, just cover the spoke face with a round of cardboard and tape or wrap the entire thing. Do it to each rim/tire separately.
