As Manning said I have been looking for the Euro driving lights for a while now. From what i gather the 924/924S and 944 driving lights are the same. I don't have the part number off hand, but i can get it and Manning has it too. The most reliable source i found was Sunset, they listed the lights for $99 each i believe. They said it would take some time to get them from Germany but they were available!

I also found another less reliable source that may accept offers at around $150 for the set. But this individual has been far less reliable...

I'm not in a huge rush to buy any lights as im still waiting for my euro bumper which i ordered in early june!

I wonder if the construction of the euro bumper depended on the model year?...
Perhaps certain years carried an aluminum bumper.
I am reasonably certain that the bumper of my friend's car has been there since new, or at least since before the last repaint, which I believe was quite some time ago.
I don't happen to have any pictures, but it looks just like all the other euro bumpers I've seen.
I don't think the little surround piece is made of fiberglass, it almost seems to be rubber. It's awfully flexible for fiberglass.

OK, here is what I could find for part numbers:

Driving Lights, or what Porsche calls "High Beam Headlamps"

Left = 477.941.751.D
Right = 477.941.752.D

If you substitute an E for the D you get the part number for the Yellow version that was used in France.

European Bumpers

924, all years including 924S

With fixed bumper irons:

477.807.133

Add a "B" to the end of the part number and you get option 288 which is headlight washers

With "buffer" or bumper shocks - Option M058:

477.807.109.H

Replace H with C and you have the version for the 931 with headlight washers.
Replace with J and you have version for standard 924 with headlight washers.

All 944 models from 83 on excluding S2 and 951.

Bumper with fixed bumper irons:

931.505.087.00

931.505.087.01 includes option M288 (headlight washers)

Bumper with buffers Option M058:

931.505.109.05

931.505.109.06 includes option M288

Now, what I am going to guess after looking into this is that any "Euro" or RoW model that gets the M058 option gets a aluminum bumper like the US DOT version, except that is has provisions for the "driving lights". SO that more likely explains Jake's car. But that is merely a guess based on Jake's bumper. The M058 bumpers very likely could be fiberglass for some areas.

Now we just need to figure out what areas in the rest of the world get vehicles with option M058.

Oh, and I remembered incorrectly about the RoW M058 buffer bumpers sharing a part number with the US DOT M058 buffer bumpers. Sorry.

Going back to the original question for a moment, I just paid $120 for a cosmetically challenged front Euro bumper -- no lenses, no paint (primer only), no nothing -- just a piece of fiberglass that needs some fixing to make right.

BTW, thanks for the part numbers -- I'm going to need them too!

Yea i forgot to anwser that question: I paid 200 for the bumper, the mounts and little rubber pieces added on another 100 bucks. Overall I think 200 for a bumper is a pretty good deal...

mine had bumper shocks, but if you looked at them, they were the same as the turbo front end shocks...the bumper was fiberglass, the surround for the lights were some kind of eurethane that was destroyed, so i removed those along w/ the rubber bumperettes.

The front bumper I have is perfect brand new old stock, in the white as it were (meaning unpainted) and came with a set of the driving lights, though one has a dull reflector. I think I may have posted I paid about $150.00 for it before, but I want back and looked in my receipt book and found I paid $250.00 for everything. I really lucked out on that one.

I ordered the rubber bumperettes new from Eurocarparts.com along with the trim for the back bumper and got the back bumper and mounting irons from the same guy Erich is working with. I can't recall what I paid for the back bumper and irons, though I think it may have been about $175.00 total a few years ago.

And yes they are still sitting in my basement. So many projects, so few ways to sneak them all past my fiance

The bumper appears the be the same kind that Jake has on his car, I am wondering, are there trim peices that go in between the lights and turn signals? Will my turn signals work in those blanks?
Should I go for it? It is New Old Stock, so its perfect

The other question I find myself asking is.. if that is almost exactly like my Us bumper with two more holes in it, why not just take the extra one of those that I have, and cut it to receive the lights, and take out the holes by welding... would that be any different?

The M058 option bumper like you show isn't as low profile as the other non-shock mounted bumper. I personally don't think it looks as elegant as what we commonly think of as the "Euro" bumper like on cars from the UK, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right?

To the question about cutting out your existing bumper, sure I guess you could but you will still have to do some fiberglass work to make it look "right" and you still have to source correct driving lights. And yes, the turn signals should fit as far as I know. At least on the 924 bumper they do.

It makes me angry that it is the aluminum one, I am not sure if I like the way it looks, a little different than the euro ones, and there is no weight savings...
Jake, do you have any other pics of yours? and what do you think of the look of it? I am seriously considering just trying to cut up my exsisting one instead of buying this one, then maybe custom fabricating some bumper shocks. Maybe I could even make a fiberglass mold of the finished product so that other people who wanted euro bumpers could have them....

you know that is NOT the same as my euro bumper that i had in fiberglass....if you look close the lower opening followed the same lines as the indent in the bumper itself...yours is smooth across the front. Hey carl...i have the trim that goes around the lights in each side of the bumper, kinda beat up, but i have it for comparison or you could do some fixing on it...andy has my driving lights that were nice, i made brake ducts...same turn signals as us.

Dan, This makes me pretty angry, I think I am not going to get it because it is not the fiberglass one, the whole point of the euro bumper was to have that indented part, where i was going to put a german plate, and I would also like it to sit back in the car very far like the fiberglass ones do. The one I found also inclueds nothing but what is seen in the picture. I'll see if I can get a better deal on it, and I might go for it if I can, but if not then I am just going to pass...

What do you think about modifying the US one to look like the euro one I would buy Dan? any ideas on how hard the cuts would be? I can do the fiberglass, the welding and the cutting are the things I need to figure out.

unless you have a tig welder in your garage you prolly wont be welding aluminum. You prob could easily cut the oem us bumper to look similar to that in the picture though.

I don't have any other pics, but I DO think you'd be just as well off cutting yours - but heads up, cut with the lense and light package in mind... you want it to fit snug.
It's raining today, next time it's clear out, I'll take some new pics.
It actually looks great, but definately not as nice (in my opinion) as the fiberglass Euro.
