Default '84 944 vs '92 968

Just wondering what the differences are between an '84 944 and a '92 968? How much of an upgrade is it? What do you think? What should I look for?

Looking at a 968 with 155,000 miles. Dealer wants 8k for it.

make an offer subject to a good PPI on that car! a one owner with 17" cup 2 wheels @ $8K sounds pretty impressive.

Be sure that the PPI includes a leakdown test and that they pop the valve cover to inspect the cam gears and tensioner chain and pads. If all is well, that car should do 250k pretty easily, and it will feel very different than an 84 944. Not necessarily "better', but different, more polished and newer.

Oh god that car is hot, I swear if it were closer to me I'd steal it for $8k

that looks like a very good deal assuming the engine is in decent condition. wasn't there a ring and pinion update to those?

That seems like a low asking price. Definately have a PPI done and base all decisions off that.

Just bought nearly perfect black leather seats for my 944. Do you think they would look stupid with the beige interior of the 968?

Probably not. I've thought of doing the same. Just don't enter any concourses......

You're seriously entering concourses? They may notice they are not stock.......

Sorry I just bought it on you.

J/K. Nice find. Even if it needs a little work, if you're a good home mechanic, that's an awfully nice car for the price.
