Talking HOW MUCH SHOULD I PAY AT THE SHOP?!

Hey guys,

Ok, I am brining my '86 944 NA into the shop to get:

heater valve replaced
thermal switch replaced

How long does it take a knowledgable mechanic to do these 2 things? And how much would be the reasonable cost for the valve and switch and then labor?

Thanks as usual!

nothing. do the work yourself - it's a piece of cake.

if you can't or won't, i would say no more than 2 hours of labor to do these. at $80 per hour plus parts i would say no more than $250-350

Way less than you're going to, if you have to ask. . .

Thermo switch is easy!! It was the very first thing I did on my '83, and the first real auto work I ever did...

Depends on how much you charge yourself. Both of these are easy DIY jobs, figure 2 hours for a shop rate, if you've never touched a wrench before, about 4 hours tops. Save your bucks and DIY. Put the money saved into some tools.
