I figured you were too young to remember the GLH. You'd probably have to be a hard-core Mopar freak to even care about them at this point.

Those hood vents (one pair) would have looked good on a Merkur XR4Ti or Cosworth replica/enhanced car.
However, that car as a whole just gives me the *******. Nice to see that he is keeping his local Pep Boys in business.

The GLHS was a monster, but had electrical issues daily. But man were they fast little cars. Not many people expect to get their doors blown off by a Dodge Omni.

Honda Civics and CRX's, as fun as they are, have lousy crash safety ratings, as do all the civics of those two generations. That's the first reason why they are crap. I love the way the look and handle, though. Honda seriously addressed crash safety ratings in the 90s and has since made very good cars in that respect.
Hondas have poor rust resistance. Probably worse than Fiat. That's the second reason why they are crap. Honestly, where did all of those 88-92 CRXs and Civics go? I haven't seen one in *months* in Ohio. They used to be everywhere you turned your head.
Yes, Hondas are precise and handle and perform well - they are very good for that. But I honestly feel that a huge part of their "such a reliable, good quality car" reputation is because they are low-maintenance, and purchased in droves by suburbanites who only keep a car for a few years and never open the hood. Nice cars to drive - especially the mid-late 90s Integra (my favorite), but overall a waste of money in my opinion.
Among 15+ year old cars with 250K+ miles, I tend to encounter more Buicks than anything else, especially with the 3800..
EDIT: This was in response to the "my buddy has a honda civic DX..." post, addressing the 'why people keep bashing imports' point.
Cheers,

And how about the tach? I'm sure that comes in really handy when he power slams the automatic transmission!

Funny you should bring up the Ford thing.
Time for another hijacking.

And while we are on the topic of fords, here is the late Carl Merril's car. What a monster. I got to ride in it at STPR one year during a press stage. I remember being chased by it one year on a stage when it failed to start and he finally got it started after we had started down the stage (and we were in a lowly Group 2 car, needless to say he overtook us in no time flat).

Yep - Carl was a hell of a good guy. We, in the rally community, miss him. Here is the one good picture I captured of him. This is from Sno*Drift in 1997 (confirmed).

flamingeye, I can't think of a good definition off the top of my head, but I know rice when I see it. Max Power magazine is of course the bible of the UK scene:
er, nice!
