Exclamation WARNING Scammer looking through Rennlist Classifieds

Guys FYI,
Some you may know that I have some wheels for sale in the Rennlist Classiifeds.
I have gotten two emails from a mmoore_65@yahoo.com.

This person is attempting to scam me. Here is the text of an email corrspondance.

Hello,
Good to hear from you and thanks for the mail.My associate who said he's interested in the item has promise to be buying it.He will be remtting to you a certified cheque drawn from US bank of $2,500 and you deduct the amount of your item which is $250 after which you will send the remaining funds through westernunion money transfer to our shipper directly, to come over to your place and get the item and all other goods we are getting in the US.They will also be the one to sign the log book and all other relevant papers for the item during the transportation of the item.

I will like you to be aware that It only takes (24HRS) for a certified check to get cash in the US but i.So i will like you to get the check cashed the same day you present it in your bank.I will be also counting on you to get the remaining funds for the transportation of the item send to freight company as soon as you get the payment and it's verified. To make things fast and convenient for the both of us,i will like you to give me the exact name you want on the check.....Your mailing address..(Street,City,State and zip code) and your Phone # so i can forward it to my representative,so he could start with the procurement of the check and won't mind to engage in a long lasting bussiness relationship.
Thanks,Best Regard's and hope to hear from you..
Moore

Interesting he mentioned "log book". That is a Brit term for the registration papers.
We have the same problem with the top-end shotguns, creeps trying a scam.
It's getting worse.

Shotguns? Man, they come up with new scam ideas pretty quick.

You can always identify these scams pretty easy. Their command of written English is pretty poor, though much better than my command of Nigerian. Western Union is usually involved in the money transfer you are supposed to make. And they always pay you with a counterfeit bank check with some crazy kickback scheme via Western Union. Oh, and they are always offering to pay you a few times more than the item is worth.

Western Union almost went bankrupt a few years ago, too bad they didn't. It almost makes you wonder if they are in on all these scams.

Who in their right mind would believe this stuff?!?! I thank ya for the warning that we have people like this out here, but what a moronic scam! It's absolutely obvious that he has false checks (also spelled in the British way) and wants to get not only goods for them, but also money. I mean, what moron would pay you $2500 and expect to get any back, duuuh. Ahhh this is even lower then the $9k 993's I've heard about overseas

I got the same deal on a car I had already sold but forgat to remove the ad, I guess. The guy called himself Price Tom something. I strung him on for a while getting more and more creative with my signature at the end of the emails. By the end of it all, I was refferring to him as King Cartoon and signing myself as the Duke of Hazard. I don't think he was amused.

The FBI says avoid them. The feds cant do much to pirates, abroad. Only unless they involve an american citizen's safety, can they pursue them. These perps playn the numbers game- looking for that brain-dead 2% of our world population. Let them keep trying to beat those ridiculous odds. They will spend themselves broke, before realizing they need to put the crack pipe down.
