I keep it around just to play NFS PU and Golden Tee Golf. (I have all the expansion courses and hacks for GTG if anyone is interested!)

I have removed all of the garbage that MS thought the "average home user" needed. I prefer Win98 ver2- service packed to the bejeesus it's as slow as it gets, I have a HD loaded with all the drivers for my server right now. Hdd and cable swap. no brainer.

I have always had a video driver issue with XP and Win2KServer with NFS PU- It's my oddball video card- wont do 3d rendering well at all. it's like frame, wait a second, frame, wait a second.. You get the idea.
well, all right, then! sounds like you know what you're doing. though, if you take all the crap out of ME, is there anything left at all when you're done??

Just the good stuff chief! Just the good stuff. Better internet client, and faster file access and repagination.

No takers on the GTG files??

Does anyone know how to keep the 951 from bouncing the rev limiter?
Just because EA doesn't support it doesn't mean that people aren't still making cars. Do some searching for car downloads, if I can find the site I've used I'll post it. I have a carrera GT that is insane. I also have a program where I can edit the properties of any car.

I know there are a lot of cars made (I've downloaded a bunch of them) but they're all just skins on the existing cars. I'd rather have new ones with the correct physics to go along with them.

This is the site that has some of the editing programs. The only two I've used is Simedit to edit the physics of cars, and nfs5edit to change finances.

Yeah, but unlike earlier NFS's, you cannot make entirely new models for the cars. Plus, you don't have access to the technical data and specifications of the different cars. No one here knows how a Carrera GT handles, so no one can make an accurate model of it.

FYI - IF you are going to participate in the tourney, you must have a CLEAN INSTALLATION of PU, with the 4 official download cars, and the V3.5 patch.

NO "AFTERMARKET" add-on cars or hack or cheats!!! The "silent witness" cheat detector will boot you if it catches any modified car files.

It's a replay analyser that can tell if someone is using a non-standard car performance file.

OK, how do you guys want to structure this?

I think one cool way would be: one session per week, and we do four tracks per session. It would take 4 sessions to get through all the tracks. Points are taken from each track finish (like formula one) and are tallied up on the website. Whomever has the most points when we've gone through all the tracks gets the little 911.

Now, we can do a dedicated 944 turbo cup, or maybe have a theme car for each of the 4 sessions.

What do you guys think?

How about a STOCK 356 cup as well- It's more "driving" skills than horsepower. 90HP.. it's all corners baby!

Yeah! I think it would be cool to have a couple different cups (like in the game) Where you can only use a certain kind of car. Is it allowed to use the performance mods that are in the game or do the cars have to be completely stock?

I vote only ONE race for the 951's....those things top out sooo easy and spin out... its annoying.
now the 914's and 911's oooo yeah!

I have ideas for two of them....of course a 944 cup and then a general one..where the driver choosed any car.

Others could be early 911's. But please...no 356's, those are just too slow making it boring. A 67 911 is slow enough to determine driver skill.
