Question anyone tried Bridgestone Potenza G009's yet?

Looking at new tires, local Firestone gave me good price on new set of Potenza G009's, compareable to TireRack. Was wondering if any one has tried these yet and how are they as an allarround tire. Daily driver and some auto-x. Size will be 215 60-15's. Wish I had 16" wheels, oh well, got to do something before I slide off the road.
Thanks in advance,
Bill

I have them on my fiancee's '94 Firebird and they have a nice ride to them, fairly grippy even on wet. I haven't pushed them very hard myself as I don't drive her car that often, but I am thinking of a set for the Porsche.

I was researching tires for my Subaru today and alot of the reviews on Tirerack comments on the squishy sidewalls of the G009s. It turned me off to them. I can't stand squishy tires.

Mr. Avionics, why are you looking at all-season tires in Florida? You could get a nice "high performance summer tire" that would do much better.

I looked at them at the local Goodyear tire express.
They have the 30day test drive thingy.
They were a bit pricey, but the write up was nice on them.
When I was driving 350 miles a day, a 30 day test would proove to be allot of miles. I don't have a working speedo, but have a GPS to tell me the mileage.
But, no work now, and no $$ to get them.. so HELLO Copper Cobra GT's...

Can I get that deal on a set of Goodyear Sports Car Specials in 20.0 x 8.0 - 13 (R110 compound)?? I promise I'll only use them on weekends.

Don - if they were at a Goodyear place then they were bought from someone else like Tire Rack and I would have to check to see if the warranties still apply. Goodyear stores (company owned Goodyear stores) ARE NOT authorized dealers. If the guy is Joe Bobs tire he may be a multibrand dealer.

Scott - sorry we dont sell Goodyear.

Ken,
Yea I read the reviews too. Some said bit squishy others no mention. Well an all season tire is not really what I am looking for, altho excellent rain performance is a must down here, when it rains, it pours and the roads are plenty slick. In addition, there aren't many Hi Performance summer tires made in 215 60 15 so the choice is somewht limited. Now if only I could get my hands on those MoMo Star 16" wheels I found on the PCA web classified..... Hmmmmmmm......
The 30 day trial may not be a bad idea, let me think about it.

I have put two sets on two different P-cars. A nice 87 n/a, and a nicely restored 912E. I have since talked to both customers and they are very happy with the ride, handling, and wet grip. I am personally sold on them.

Due to Matt H's suggestion, I have them on my Audi and Beetle. Very quiet was the first thing I noticed on both cars. Overall they are an excellent tire, especially for the price. The stock Michilins on my beetle are twice the money, I can't tell a difference.

I have the RE950's on the back of my 968 right now. Very happy with them.

Ahhh. Try searching for 225/50-15s tires instead. That's what I run now on my 83 with 15x7 Cookie Cutters. They fit fine, no issues at all! And it opens up a bunch more options for high performance tires! I checked tire rack real quick and they've got Bridgestone S-03s, a couple Dunlops, Pirelli Pzeros, and a few more. Keep in mind the ride will be a bit stiffer with the shorter sidewall, and it won't fill up the fender well as much. But the better choice of tires is worth it.
