More power
#16
i helped nine44 do his 951 swap, it turned out great. For me, when i got my 944 the power was not enough. Then i started doing suspension mods and getting the handling down. Now i dont even notice the lack of power because when it gets into the twistys im gone. Even though a 924s w/ an s2 motor would be the sleeper from hell!

Lets' reduce this redundancy..
This is one of those recurring threads, that will continue on with questions...indefinitely. As long as there are new Porsche owners- the big 944 NA-to 951 Turbo upgrade will always attract the curious. I think we should establish a "number one rule-of-thumb".....simply to clarify the sheer impracticality of performing a full stock 944-to-turbo conversion. This Welcome to Rennlist greeting should reside at the top of Rennlist's website.

Option 5: Lighten your car. 15 lb weight decrease ~ 1 hp increase. Its not a replacement for a turbo or supercharger, but it is probably the most cost-effective performance upgrade for you. No need to upgrade the brakes, and the handling improvements don't cost extra.
