ATTN: NEEDED!!!! upgraded sway bars for n/a 944
I am in serious need of some upgraded sway bars, especially in the rear as I don't have one!!! the car has WAY too much roll to compete in the tracks right now, a dx honda embarassed me even sure it was done up.. but this is a PORSCHE!
if anyone can direct me to a company that manufactures them, a friend who has some lying around.. a broken 944 turbo s kickin around perhaps? i'd love to grab the sway bars. also...
strut braces in the front, what sort of advantage are these?

I have a set of sway bars from an 89 S2. Front is 25mm and rear I think is 16mm but I'll double check that. PM me if your interested. As far as strut braces are concerned I've heard that you should do all the other suspenion upgrades before you bother with them.

The n/a 944s (just speaking from my own) had an optional "factory handling package". I think this package beefed up the front sway to the 30mm one (pretty hefty) and added a rear sway (although it's pretty small, I'm guessing maybe 18mm or so). You could certainly stiffen that car up by adding a strut tower brace, turbo rear sway, 400# springs, koni coil-overs, etc. Just a question of what do you have to spend and how much do you care about steering?

xsboost, I have the front & rear sways from my old 85.5 944. They are maybe 24mm & 14mm. I don't know if they would be a huge improvement but they're yours if you want them.

not sure what the front one is factory, i will guage it tonite or tomorrow. I have that bar that wade gave me for the brown car, i think its prob. 14mm, but the front im unsure. Ill have to get some droplinks and mounts for the car as well.

my 944 had the factory sport package, it came w/ the 26mm front bar and the 18mm rear sway. if you really want to improve the handling of your car w/ o spending too much, i would go with turbo sways, which are same as above, and some 200lb coilovers in front-paragon rideheight kit shameless plug. This balances the car nicely. If you are looking to do more than that- my car did VERY well autoxing w/ this set up, then go w/ a mo30 19mm rear sway and some 250lb front coilovers.

For the record, the 924S has a 20mm front sway, and would have had the 26.8mm front with the M030 option. I added a front strut tower before i added the rear sway. It certainley did tighten up the steering (atleast it felt like it did), but i can feel the understeer when pushing it around exit and on ramps. I would advise to go with a rear sway before the strut tower. Even then i think a bigger front sway would have an even bigger impact than a strut brace would. Just my .07 cents.
