One that stands out is when I was leaving a nightclub pretty late one night and as I'm getting into the 83, which was as clean and glowing as a gray car can look, I notice this girl call out to me and say:

"Hey, can you please take me home -I've got to get out of here."

I was a bit stricken by it, but she was really pretty and I was somewhat flattered, so I gave her a ride. I'm sure the shiny little Porsche was what gave her the confidence to trust a total stranger.

I have only had my car checked out once, as it doesn't seem to draw attention. However, one night my wife and I are dining in a small resort town on Vancouver Island and have a table at the front. The car is parked on the street right in front of our window. Soon, three young skateboard dudes are milling in the general area (this is a quiet main street) and seem to be checking out the car. My wife doesn't believe it, as she thinks my car looks like a Datsun (240Z), not a Porsche (911.)

Soon these three are doing a slow walk by. Two are studiously ignoring my car, but one of them is staring at it so intently, he walks right into a lamp post!

I pull into a local convenience store in my black 944 and there is about 8 or 10 Vettes sitting there....must have been a local event somewhere....the Vette people were standing outside their
cars and when I pulled past them they all turned and one girl says "You wanna race"....I just stopped and said "I could take you in the turns".....they laughed...it was all in fun....

also.....sometimes I park by the front of the house and sitting on the porch in the evenings.... while some teenage boys walked past and said....."cool car....hey it's a Porsche"....its funny to watch the passing drivers turn heads to see it as they drive by.....

Hey Joe Anstett, would you happen to be talking about Taylors ice cream parlor on main street. I live in Long Valley and go there often, get the looks from people outside lol. By the way if your available there will be the annual PCA-NNJR Porsche picnic this sunday in Long Valley all welcome to attend.

This really weird looking dude was walking past my car and stopped and said "cool, heh heh heh he", I said hey is your name Beavis? he said yah.

My wife and I are heading home after dinner when we were buzzed by 3 'ricers'. They were zipping around us kind of taunting and I was ignoring them when my wife asks " are you going to let them get away with that ?" I smile and say 'nope' drop it to 3rd and dust 'em all off. Then turn off the 4 lane into our town never to see them again

It's fun driving the 951 cup with all the stickers around town.. People (especially kids) stop and stare.. Great fun.
