Default fs: 86 turbo-low miles $8500. must sell fast!

ok, i did a search and couldnt find my last post about this car but here it is for possiblly the last time. My bud has a very nice 951 for sale and he needs it to go asap due to some financial difficulties. The car has about 80,000. miles and is very nice. Red, black interior five speed, all original w/ the exception of the turbo controller and the chip. He called me today and said he really needs to sell this and would take 8500 OBO! If i had the money i would jump on this deal but as you may know i have enough car issues at the moment to take on one more.

imho $8500 does not seem like a price from someone that really needs to sell quickly. might be a little high to sell really fast.

That is a very good observation. It does say OBO. I have seen this car and is is extremely clean, well kept (Ok it's babied) and low miles IIRC.
It is worth every penny of $8500 and more.

That car is worth it. It's extremely clean, bone stock except for chip, and well cared for. He was originally asking $10K and the car is worth it.
So many people are always looking for good 951's. Here it is folks, jump on this.

Mines an 86 with 15,000 less miles. You wouldnt get a returned phone call unless you offered over $12,000 for mine. Hell I have it insured for $16,500. Granted reds are everywhere but still, I think that car is very competively priced.

I cant help that some people are dumping their cars because they need a quick sell. Doesnt mean the cars are worth less, just means people are selling them for less. A 4 carat diamond sold for $1 is not worth $1.

I pesonally think $8500 is a frickin steal if that car is yells well maintained. Theres a lot of crap floating around in the 944 world. Cars that got washed twice a year or baked in the Arizona sun for 15yrs. You can pay now or pay later.

Do you have any other info on the car like service history? Im sorta interested...but may be buying a very clean '86 944 for about $2000 less in about a month or so. That may seem high for a n/a, but its a very cherry car. A 951 is on my list for the future car. If i could skip the n/a for a little more than maybe its worth looking into!

I told myself to stay away from the 951 because its fast and for the extra maitenence. But seeing a black 951 in my area yesterday changed my mind a little bit.

That car is worth every penny. I remember a year ago he was asking something like $14K for it. It won the VW Brothers fest Concourse last year, and that was a white glove event. My car was mad at me because I had to park it next to that 951, it made it look bad .

If I had the cash, I would buy it. Well, that, and if Renee wouldn't kill me in my sleep if I brought another car home.

I am so, so SICK of people thinking that every 944 should be less than $2500 and every 951 should be $5000 or less. The people that say that should go out and look at what they really get for that price-range.

xsboost: are there any hosted images anywhere? If not, I would gladly host some images on his behalf on my rennlist server space... I'd like to see the pics myself; how is the interior. I know tifo just said that the whole car is great, but specifics aren't here yet.
Thanks for listing for us, xsboost.

By and large people are looking for a "bargain" diamond in the rough- spendng 2500 on a 944, dumping 6 grand into it, that's worth 4K after some work.

This is the case where you should be spending more to get a MUCH better example.

You'll notice the SOW guys saying how good a buy this is at 8500. there is a reason for that support.
This is about as unmolested and well kept 951 you will see in a long time.

Oh.. and we've seen some dogs.. This is not one of them.

first off...the guy needs to sell it like, this week! so move fast if you want it..

the interior is perfect and i mean better than ive seen. No cracks, no scuffs on dash, seats, consule etc. The belts were just done in the last year, prob. seals too, by porsche and i think since he bought the car he has put a total of 5000 miles on it, in at least two years. The paint is in excellent condition, you can see that the rear quarters have been resprayed if you are a picky m/f er like myself, but very unnoticable to most. The badges/stickers have all been changed over to black now and other than that the car is original. If i could sell my car real fast i would be on it!

Hmmm. As a matter of fact, if you look at the photo of the car, you can see my car next to it in the background. It looks mad.

Just this one.

To bring the average $5000 951 into the condition this one is in I can guarantee that you will end up with $15K in it. I should know, the total so far on my S2 is close to that figure. $8500 is a steal.
