The best "place" for an NA - is next to a Turbo, in the same garage.

Its everyones personal opinion. After driving my 951 I cant stand automatics anymore... Heavy traffic doesnt bother with, nor downtown, etc.
i've never driven, or been a passenger in a 951. so i'll stop here.

FTY 250 lbs springs with stock rear t-bars plus wider rear tires (I assume 225F and 255 rear) and turbo sway bars all equal understeer and slower times than a stock NA. My advice is to put 225/50's on 15inch wheels are all four corners add 28mm tbars to the rear. Keep the turbo bars. Say hellow to fast autocrosser.

On my stock 83 NA I Run the option front and rear sway bar (ie car has rear sway bar) and 225/50 R15's on each corner. I even "upgraded" to KYB shocks. Still beat all other cars on street tires at my las autocross. That included Boxster, Boxster S, 993, 996, a bunch of 911s

It can be done.

M758... Curious as to what brand of 225/15 street/autocross tires you're running on the 83?

TIA

Eyal, the last thing I would expect from a turbo driver is to wish for an automatic. And telling myself what?... I could easily sell my 944 auto and get a manual one, but I allready have a car that I like.

there's a certain pride involved in owning and tuning an n/a...any power you get out of it is a true accomplishment...and there's always the option of you being able to eventually turbo or supercharge it. granted it's not as badass as the 951's, but it's all about preference. personally i like how much easier a 944 is to work on compared to a 951.

You n/a guys get awfully defensive...must be that gaping hole in the engine bay where the turbo is supposed to be... :-p
I may regret saying this later, but I actually agree with what he said

but what if you only have room for one car in the garage...IE my dad's S2...while my NA gets rained on

but on the brighter side...maybe it was just cooling off after a hard day at the auto-x?

Ashton, cars arent meant to be babied..theyre simply meant to be taken care of. My car has been in every single rain last year and it cant wait till the next rainy season! At 237k miles, the only person who still values this car is me...

M758-You dont really notice the 250lb springs in the front with the Turbo front suspension, inst it only 50lbs more than the stock turbo spring? Im sure the wheels are holding me back prolly a little bit, it was the first time i had drivin it since all the radical changes, and I mean that literally, it was finished the day before the AutoX, so all i had was the 10min drive there to figure that car out. I think Ill be able to push it a bit further on the 8th. -chris Yeah i do need stiffer T-Bars too

Stock 951 springs are around 150lbs/in. You definetely could use some beefy t-bars.

I forget, your wheels are replicas or originals?
