Default Adhesive spray for hood pad?

I just purchased the 3M Super 77 Spray Adhesive in order to reglue my hood insulation onto the hood. The product is flammable though and I am concerned if this is the right thing to use. Anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Thats probably what I will use when I do mine.

It is probably only flamable while using it. Once ot dries, it should be fine.

I would also suggest that you spray both sides and then let get half dry and very tacky...

I have used that stuff many times..

That reminds me, I gotta go buy some to glue my rear seats back in.

Don-

When you put your rear seats back in, do you use some sort of solvent first to strip out all the adhesive and the leftover bits of padding and so forth from the old seats? I'm replacing the back seat and i've pulled off as much as I can with just my hands, but there are lots of little bits of old padding and adhesive still there...

Gotcha.. My backseat was in horrible condition and the padding literally was falling apart as I was pulling the seat off. I'll post a pic later this evening so you can see the full extent of my nightmare. Damn thee PO!

I used the 3M "Super Adhesive" for my OEM pads on my early 944 and silver metallic pads on my 951. The early 944 has remained stuck without issue for over 2 years - I put the pads on the 951 about a month ago - so far so good. I, of course, have luckily not had a fire in either car (the true test), but the silver metallic pad material which is made for hood liners recommended the 3M super adhesive. Just a note of caution - make sure you have the 3M "super" version not the "general" version, as the label on the "general" states that it is not to be used for hood liners -
