Talking Finally: First wave from a 944.

After two years of having this car on the road I finally got my first wave from another 944 driver who I did not know. This was pretty much my first attempt as well. I rarely see 944s when i'm in my car, but if I'm riding with someone else we can easily pass half a dozen in one night. When I am in my car, I usually either see them from a distance or we both only have time to give eachother a quick look as we pass. I waved as we passed in opposite lanes as he waved also. It was a black n/a on hwy 22 in Louisville, but I kind of doubt they post here. I also need to remember to keep my rennlist cards in my glovebox...just in case.

Rock...exactly how much has your car been road worthy?
Seriously though...did you ever get the windshield fixed?

I think as a general rule the Boxster guys tend to be even worse than 911 owners. I've actually gotten waves from and had conversations with 911 owners - a lot of them have owned or still do own watercooled Porsches as well. . .

The Boxster owners tend to be the big posers, at least in my limited experiences. At least in a few years I think when they all move on to something newer to impress their unimpressed yuppie "friends", there will be a lot of Boxsters on the market for the taking by people like us 944 owners. I really think the Boxster will fill the void that's being created by 944s crashing / dying / being parted out. They will (like the 944) be pretty cheap in a few years, have great performance, and be easy to tweak.

Most 911, 993,and 996 guys usually give me the finger. Thats after I slam on the brakes, slow down and let them carch up, then give them my big, ****-eatin grin!! All I ever wave to are the 944 folks. We're the only human beings driving Porsches. The others are all aliens from Uranus. That, or lawyers.

here many older 911 guys wave the 964 and 993 is a gamble..996 owners....well I had a guy in a GT3 wave...he had a clue...boxster owners...no clue..and not to sound sexist but women in porsche's are just not even worth the time....I live around Granite Bay(where most Sacramento Kings live) and here there are a lot of rich stuck wanna be's.....one guy in a 996 turbo asked me "that is a porsche? what model what year?" oh and he added .."it sounded awesome going by"...
