Default Window Tint Attempt

Tried to get my windows tinted today. After workig on the car for about an hour they guy called me in and said he can't do it. Said tint is not sticking to windows. He said the glass is old and not in good shape.

Does this sound right? Has this happened to anybody?

He told me before he started that the back might be a problem. Think he was trying to talk me out of it. Told him to give it his best shot i don't need forit to be perfect.

The black paint stuff around the border does deteriorate; I scraped most of it away on mine except down at the bottom where it is in good shape. If he was willing to do adequate prep. work on the glass (possibly including a little scraping) and a very good job cleaning, it should work fine.

he used steel wool to get some of the black off. Also said he had someone else try the back window and didn't work. Also told me that as soon as I roll the from window down tint will roll off and he needs to leave a space in the front corner.

I need to ask around here and see where people have gotten tinting done on their '44. How much have you guys paid to have tinting done?

If they would have done it it would have cost me $149.99. That price seemed to be pretty consistent around my area.
