Just got back...Awesome trip. Did anyone get hit up by the cops? About 2 minutes after I left the gas station i was cruzing about 80mph and I saw a cop car crest the next hill. I nailed the brakes, but so did he. He got on them pretty good, but then just kept going. Never turned around.

Back in the states my dad was driving again and we went down chuckanut drive. There was a white audi quatro. Not the current body style, but about 2 generations ago. It had rims and exaust. Of course he wanted to play. Us, not being familiar with the road, kept up in the turns more or less, but in the straights even with messed up overboosting chips we caught him.

I'll post some more pics of the meet,
Eric

Wicked trip!!! Thanks everyone for organizing it. Marc thanks everyone that's helping out with his car, especially Henry. You NW guys are awesome, that's all I have to say. I've never met a bunch of guys so accomadating for a few crazy strangers from Alberta hehe.

As for the police situation, I was "playing" on Hastings, and got pulled over. After checking my crap to make sure I wasn't a drug dealer or something, cop told me "I know you have a fast car, but please keep the speeds down", and let me go. I love being out of province .

I guess it wasn't such a good idea to do launch off every light at hastings with my loud wastegate vent, but I had to test that Chevron gas! (it was good BTW, must've got a bad tank in Kamloops). Man there's a lot of cops down there, at least one every block hehe. I didn't speed, was just a bit loud and accelerated pretty quick haha. Plus with an NSX that was lined up with me at one of the lights, it was way too tempting.

likewise Rage - glad Marc got the car together to head home. Henry's our secret weapon.... Hastings is not the place to play - rough crowd down there...

Glad the 94 octane worked out OK.

IanM got a few great shots of your car this morning on the way up to HG - we'll get them to you pretty soon - he was working on Sandor's front suspension tonight after they got back from the CGT / 997 event. Drive safely on the way home!

Thanks for coming down for a little fun.

Hastings is a bad street to screw around on. There are druggies wandering the streets left right and centreline. just to clarify: It's not the druggie's well being you should worry about - it's the damage to your car he'd cause.

rage, sorry I couldn't make it out tonite but Ian and I were both POOPED! I'm about to hit the sack right now.. I just got home!

Glad ya'll made it out.. it was nice seeing you guys and your cars!!! Till next time!

I got big reds, so I should be able to avoid those druggies alright .

Marc's car is still out of commission, no suitable control arm yet. He's staying one more day, so I'm driving back myself tomorrow morning after the F1 race.

Really enjoyed myself out there. Great that there's a bunch of guys willing to DRIVE their cars. There's only a few hardcore ones back home that go out on the twisties!

Next time I'm down here, maybe I'll fill up with some of that 103 octane unleaded and really let the car rip.

Awesome drive, way too many curves
Hope the 944 gets fixed quickly and back on the road, thankfully at least it was only the car.
Thanks Travis for getting the event organized, sorry we didn't all get to have breakfast together.
Great meeting the 928 boys, glad you all came out. its nice that you are all down to earth car guys just like us and nice to see these super cars on the road.
Oh and I caught Randy trying to steal my car.

Close to 25 W/C cars went up to Hells Gate in the Fraser Canyon - 944's, 951's, 928's including a contingent from Seattle area and even Calgary (600+ miles away!).

Thanks to Travis and crew for organizing everything.

Here's a few shots from the day...
Let it be said that the two red 951s in the corner of the first arrivals pic were the first arrivals... Easily 20 mins ahead of all those slow pokes Rich and I were the last of the group on the ferry, well behind everyone else, yet beat everyone there

Slooooooooow pokes

Glad to hear you all arrived back home safe and sound - see ya next time! We'll plan something a little more interesting - maybe meet in Kamloops and do the Duffy Lake route full circle via Princeton to Kelowna - a few great fast roads back there I found last week!
