Default My Engine's Out! (edit: NOW WITH PICS)

ok everyone...i FINALLY have my engine out ...now it's up on the hoist and everything but i have yet to put it on the engine stand...can anyone tell me where exactly the engine goes onto the stand...because i have absolutely no idea...but anyway...i will have pics soon...i'll be uploading them all onto my website of what i've done so far...tomorrow morning hopefully....check back in with this thread and you'll see

hey matt thanks so much....you've been more than helpful...haha without your help i wouldn't have gotten this far... ...but hey everyone...sebs just told me i should take off the bellhousing and put the stand prongs in there...i guess i'll be doing that tomorrow when i get home...

Bolt the engine to the stand where the bellhousing went (flywheel off of course). The bolts can be a pain to find...I ended up getting mine online.

ohh ok...thanks tom...but what bolts do i need to buy? shouldn't they have come with the stand? anyway....i got lazy and decided not to put up the website yet...so im just going to post some pics here ...here ya go...

me getting ready to unbolt the crossmember...

You have to take the bell housing off to put the engine on the stand.

yep i will be taking that off when i get home tomorrow...although im unsure as to what tom meant by the bolts that he had to find...

You will need to take the bell housing off and get long enough bolts to go through the engine stand holes into the engine block where the bell housing bolts used to be. I believe rear suspension bolts are long enough for this application expecially the ones used to hold the torsion bar housing to the frame or the top shock bolt if you have spares.

ohhh ok that makes sense...where's a good place to get these really long bolts because im pretty sure i wouldn't be able to find them from a pep boys or autozone...or would i?

If you find out exactly what you want, there's a place in Irving near Texas Stadium called Metric and Multi-Standard. They have everything in all grades. But you have to know exactly what you need.
